Dear Neighbors
Sad to say, but it looks like we're in for some more of this awful weather of highs in the 80's and lows in the 50's.  Couldn't be a better time to try out some of the short hikes sponsored by the Beaver Creek Trails Coalition.  There is a hike late this afternoon to enjoy Russell Wash.  Give Susan Sim a call or come to the meet place.  The schedule is below.

If you still haven't gotten a free flu shot, there is one more chance locally. Tomorrow, Friday, Yavapai County will be providing the free shots at the Beaver Creek Adult Center from 10 AM to 1 PM.  Other free or low cost events this weekend are the Yard Sale to Benefit Homeless Animals at the VVHS on Friday and Saturday and Dump n' Donuts for Verde River Cleanup on Saturday.  The following weekend come celebrate Bat Week at Montezuma Castle and the 20 th anniversary of Grace Community Lutheran Church, and don't miss Halloween Spooktacular on Monday, 10/31.

On Top 'O the Morning Rd, near the Montezuma Rimrock Fire Station, earth work has been ongoing for the past several weeks with more to come as the project continues across Beaver Creek Rd.  The final result will provide water to the fire station, a fire hydrant at the station, improved flow for the hydrants along Top 'O the Morning, and improved fire protection from the Honey Hole to past Robbie's.  The project incorporated funding from AZ Water, the Fire Authority, and again the Eddie Lodge bequest.

If you haven't bought tickets yet for the Hot Time with the Firefighter benefit to help support three area fire districts, they can be purchased at the gate on Saturday.  Jackpot Ranch has many activities that aren't usually available at a benefit and is a pleasure to spend some time visiting.

Beaver Creek School Superintendent Karin Ward is requesting some local participation and support at the Community Outreach Program on the role of post-secondary education in the Verde Valley next Tuesday in Camp Verde.  Please come share your ideas and frustrations with others who care.  The flyer has details on how to register to attend.
See you out walking or hiking,
