Beaver Creek eNews

December 1, 2017

Dear Neighbors

Starting on Saturday (tomorrow) highs are dropping to the upper 60's and then the 50's with a possibility of a few sprinkles in the days to come.  Meanwhile, there are still leaves left to fall from our trees despite what seems like a downpour of them.  Jim Guerrieri, the Rollins Park maintainer, raked up 25 bags of leaves in the Lake Montezuma Village Square on Thursday.  Fall is so beautiful!!  And messy!!

Christmas House is open this year in the area vacated by Beaver Creek Liquors thanks to the generosity of Beaver Creek Gasmart.  On Saturday our local students are having a bake sale there to help raise more funds for the project.  So far Kiwanis has adopted 22 families with 56 kids.  Donations of Christmas items to be sold to raise funds are still being accepted at Kiwanis Clothes Closet and at the Christmas House itself.

This Saturday volunteers are meeting at 9 AM at the Forestglen Trail Head to continue work on the Wickiup Mesa Trails.  In the afternoon starting at 2:30 PM, a local author's fair is being held at the Beaver Creek Library.  Don't miss the chance to meet our talented neighbors, enjoy refreshments and see the artwork display in the library.  On Sunday evening is the anticipated Hanging of the Greens at Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

The following Saturday brings us the monthly food bank at Beaver Creek School and Santa photos taken at Candy's Creekside Cottage in McGuireville.  In the evening everyone is invited to the Holiday Pot Luck at the Beaver Creek Adult Center where the Angel Tree is up and the decorating continues.  The Center is also giving 5 food boxes to needy families.  On Sunday, Grace Community Lutheran Church is hosting a Cantata.

Later in the month, Dump the Drugs is scheduled at the Beaver Creek Adult Center and the Mobile On-Site Mammography van will be at Beaver Creek School.  Continuing each Saturday in Camp Verde is the Winter Farmer's Market.
