May 11, 2017

Dear Neighbors

Congratulations to all who are anticipating lovely May graduations, Mother's Day, weddings and anniversaries!  What a great month for celebrations and let the BBQs begin!

Free slash drop off at any of the county transfer stations continues through June 1 after which there will be a fee.  Tomorrow the BC Preservation & Historical Society (BCPHS) is showing an interesting DVD from Arizona's Centennial and on Saturday the food bank at Beaver Creek School is open for distribution.

Next week the BC Trails Coalition is holding its annual meeting, the first Fourth of July planning meeting will be held, and on the following Saturday is another chance to Dump the Drugs.  Detailed information on these events and others is below.

Watch for the BCPHS Raffle.  The unusual and interesting prize list is below.  Proceeds will be used to benefit the Rock School project.  A BCPHS committee is also working on the time line project at Beaver Creek School which will create painted tiles to place in the Beaver Creek School courtyard.  Information is below on how to purchase a tile or make a donation toward materials.

On a sad note, but one which brings many happy memories, is the passing of a beloved willow tree near Beaver Creek Golf Course.  Terri Warren brought the incident to our attention and Claudia Brescia took this photo of her husband walking his dog by the willow just days before it fell during the windy spring weather.

Looking forward and behind, too
