Beaver Creek eNews

June 11, 2018

Dear Neighbors

Two important meetings are scheduled for this afternoon, BCCA and the Beaver Creek School Governing Board.  At the community meeting at 3 PM in the Adult Center, the new Director of Development Services for Yavapai County will introduce himself and present what's new in that department.  He has past experience with zoning violations and has been to our area previously.  At 6 PM at the school board meeting, come find out about curriculum plans for next year and when the budget will be finalized.  Please read about the "Good Things Happening" below to learn what the kids and school staff have been doing.

The Beaver Creek Library (located adjacent to the school) has special programs all summer in addition to being open 40+ hours each week.  More information and the flyer is below.  Beaver Creek Transit is helping with transportation and the Kovus grandkids are helping to keep the Buggy clean!

The eNews received this Wickiup Mesa wildlife report:  " Saturday morning, June 9, at appox. 8am a large bobcat  was observed as it attacked, killed and carried off a house cat
at 4365 E Cliffside Trail, above and behind Crickets Restaurant.  Homeowners in the area may want to be cautious in allowing house pets  outside unattended."  (Both bobcats and occasionally mountain lions are active in this area.  This is good advice about pet protection.)

The Kiwanis Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, Parade, and Celebration in Rollins Park and Duck Race at Sycamore Park are fast approaching.  There is much to enjoy in the festivities that is free. However if you would also like to donate to Kiwanis community activities, duck race tickets are available for purchase at local merchants (look for the duck signs) and raffle tickets are available in the Kiwanis Clothes Closet for a special quilt and a rocking horse.  The Timeline is attached below.

Activity classes are ongoing at Emerald Waves Healing and the BC Adult Center in such areas as Yoga, exercises, crafts and more.  Please contact Christine at  603-321-7284 for the EWH class schedule and BCAC at 928-567-4556 for their schedule.

Enjoying the pleasant mornings and evenings,
