Dear Neighbors

Juddie & Ernie Batcheller
The annual Beaver Creek Fourth of July Celebration time is here.  Next Tuesday, the 4th, the pancake breakfast is from 7 AM to 8:45 AM in Rollins Park in the LM village square across from Cricket's.  At 9 AM the parade starts from Sycamore Park by the bridge and continues down Montezuma Avenue.  This year the Grand Marshals are long-time Kiwanians Ernie and Juddie Batcheller who are well known for their volunteer activities with kids in our area.  In fact, at 80+, Ernie will be out along Wet Beaver Creek this weekend doing some cleaning up for the duck race!  Mia Charlie, a recent and highly honored Beaver Creek School graduate, is the Junior Grand Marshal.  It's not too late to be in the parade which is a highlight of the summer for many of us.  Just stop by the Montezuma Rimrock Fire Station and get registered.

After the parade, Fire Chief Terry Keller will present the parade award ribbons to the selected entrants.  This year's judges are Jane Harrington, Michael Schmidt, and Sharon Olsen.  There will be free hotdogs and ice cream cups, a rock climbing wall, a hayride, water games, face painting, tattoos and more.  Tickets for the duck race will be sold until about 11 AM.
And there are lots of other activities going on in July.  The Rock School building is open for viewing every Saturday AM on the BC School campus, the Rimrock Farmers' Market is held every Friday at Sycamore Park and includes live music, and beautiful artwork is on display at the BC Library building located in front of BC School.

It is especially important this month to remember that the Yavapai County Fire Ban IS in effect in the Beaver Creek area.  Please be vigilant about spotting and reporting any burning or use of fireworks.  We all have responsibility to keep each other safe!  "The county ban prohibits all open fires and campfires. Fireworks and other pyrotechnic displays are expressly prohibited. Other types of outdoor fires banned are those that produce open flames such as lamp oil in tiki lamps. The ban also prohibits the outdoor use of equipment that generates open flames or a spark. This restricts the use of welding equipment and chain saws."

See you in the Parade,

(See flyer below.)
