August 19, 2015

Dear Neighbors
It's mid August and the skies are beautiful and the early morning and later evening hours are cool and a fine hunting time for our local predators.  Some of our beautiful wildlife are carnivores, particularly coyotes and bobcats, and will eat cats and other small pets.  Please be aware that Montezuma/Rimrock is surrounded by Coconino National Forest which is a reason that many of us have chosen to live here.  However it is challenging to keep small pets safe when they are outdoors.

Yavapai County Public Works is widening Sweetwater Dr (which connects to Montezuma Lake Rd) for easier access by pedestrians.  The project is ongoing and will include an overlay of Lookout Point Rd during the fiscal year.  The YC Board of Supervisors has again provided free slash drop off at the county transfer stations.  The one in Camp Verde is the closest to this area.  This is an opportunity to clean up your property and help avoid fires.

Please read about Eric Pinson who has recently relocated his sign shop in our area and will offer more services.  Charlie Fillmore and Jim Andrus (Jim's Trading Post) are hosting an Open Mike Concert every other Saturday.  NACOG continues to offer case manager services two Wednesdays per month at the Camp Verde Senior Center in order to help low income individuals and families with immediate needs.  And finally the National Park Service has a welcomed fee free day scheduled for August 25.

See you at the Open Mike Concert,

Meet Eric Pinson, Owner of 27 Designs Advertising Solutions

27 Designs opened in Rimrock last October as mainly a Sign Shop for business owners and only opened 2 days a week to the public. In those 2 days a week we received such an overwhelming welcome and interest that I decided to open the shop for more retail, eventually building up to 4 days per week. In the time since, the retail side of the business has grown so much that I've relocated from the building on Beaver Creek Rd to 4235 N Montezuma Ave across the street from the former Ranch House Restaurant.  This move may cut down on drive-by traffic but I hope to spread the word so that everyone interested can find the shop.

I'm a qualified and experienced business owner/graphic designer. 27 Designs (formerly EAP Designs) was established in 2001 in Phoenix, AZ and also operated in Kansas City, MO for 6 years. In addition to being a successful business owner and Graphic Designer, I have managed such businesses as Home Depot and Savers. Unfortunately, a vehicle accident in July of 2013 disabled me and forced me to leave retail management and my 10 acre ranch near Flagstaff and return to a sole career of Graphic Design. My wife, Candy Pinson, and I chose the Lake Montezuma/ Rimrock area to re-open the retail side of 27 Designs as well as to raise our children; Keenan 2, and Kyleigh 8. We chose this area because I have family that has called the Verde Valley home for over 35 years.

My personal interests include playing the guitar, writing, and going camping with my family. After the accident in 2013 I'm very appreciative to be alive and take every opportunity available to spend time with my family. Either one or both of our children can be seen quite frequently at work with me. Often I'm at work in the late nighttime hours or early morning to catch up on work my 2 yr old son didn't want me to complete in the daytime.

27 Designs will re-open its doors on Monday, August 17 at the Village Square in Lake Montezuma. We plan a Grand Opening with a BBQ and some festivities on a weekend in September to be announced at a later date (keep an eye out for flyers). I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all and invite you into 27 Designs any time to shop or say hi. In addition, I have many community events planned on location to meet our neighbors as well as bring the community together. Store hours will be initially Tues thru Fri, 9 AM to 6 PM, and appointments can always be made for anyone who cannot make it during business hours. 928-362-8967 which is 362-TWO-7.

The service is first and foremost a business marketing and advertising one stop shop. We help business owners and managers with such important items as: Business Signs, Business Cards, Logo Design, Flyers, Brochures, Pamphlets, Banners, Window Lettering, T-Shirts, Menus, Rack Cards and Bumper Stickers. In addition, for the non-business owner, we offer such items as: Window Stickers, Personalized Clothing, Calendars, Cups, Magnets, Car Decals, Wall Art, Race Car Lettering, Invitations, Photo Gifts and Posters. We are a small business (and hoping to stay that way for some time), staffed with just one Graphic Designer/ Owner, Eric Pinson (myself) and one Production Assistant, Kenny Dilts. In addition to the above mentioned graphic design areas we will be offering: fax services, both b&w and color copies, and photo enlargement/printing.
Regularly Scheduled Meetings & Activities for Late August
