Dear Neighbors
The weather is looking pretty good today to come out and enjoy the annual Kiwanis Chili & Pie Dinner for donations. This event raises funds that are mostly used to support children's activities thus you will see community children volunteering their help throughout the evening. (And Kay Nye, owner of Cricket's) made the pie!)
If the forecast is correct, this will be a showery weekend. So that makes it ideal to spend a little time at the fire station on Saturday participating in a health screening. It's free and will be interesting for the whole family. Saturday has lots of other scheduled activities, many of which are indoors. However a little shower or two probably won't spoil the bird walk at Montezuma Well.
New for our local area is that the National Monuments of the Verde Valley are partnering with the Verde Valley Archeology Center in Camp Verde. The Field Institute from the Center will be offering archaeology classes and guided hiking field seminars. Please see the news release below.
ADOT has issued a "Last Call for safety message contest entries". The deadline is February 19. The details are below.
Getting ready to eat chili & pie tonight at the fire station,
