What an Adventure!
Thanks for your support these last four years of the Elkin Valley Trails Association (EVTA).  During this time the EVTA volunteers have given thousands of hours of effort to help create a most amazing trail adventure that includes a new birding hotspot in NC; a wildflower meadow and walk; five Eagle projects including a canoe/kayak rack, multiple trail benches, two rest areas, a 140-foot pedestrian bridge over Elkin Creek, a viewing deck over the Shoe Factory Dam and a 40-foot bridge over Grassy Creek; a senior project for steps down to the Elkin Creek; the opening of the wheel-chair accessible Elkin & Alleghany Rail-Trail; two 25-foot horse high and wide bridges on Wells Knob; multiple culverts including one 85-feet long; approximately 11 miles of hike/bike and/or horse/hike trail; 18 QR coded historical signs being placed; a fanciful trail signpost in downtown Elkin by high school art students; and much more as we enjoyed multiple partnerships with businesses, agencies and governments. Our adventure continues into 2016 as we add and maintain trail; prepare to stage and install a 178-foot bridge, 50-feet above the Elkin Creek at the city reservoir; complete a 6.2-mile mountain bike course as well as working toward completing connections for a 24 mile horseback riding trail. Elkin Valley Trails volunteers are giving over 4,000 hours a year to achieve these results. We hope you will favorably consider supporting EVTA again this year with your volunteer hours and donations as we stretch tax dollars and imaginations to create a unique asset to help promote the regional economy and health and welfare of our citizens and visitors.
