February 15 - Beekeeping w/ Urban beekeeper and owner of Two Gander Farm Trey Flemming
Trey is one of the leading experts on beekeeping and has been instrumental in promoting urban beekeeping. As a fellow beekeeper, I found his seminar to be one of the best I have ever attended and we are honored to have him lead this seminar. Even if you have never considered beekeeping, I guarantee you will find this seminar fascinating. We will serve mead and honey samples. Two Gander Farm also offers shares in their CSA so visit their website at http://twoganderfarm.com.
March 14 - Flour Seminar & Pasta Demo , Roberta Strickler of Daisy Organic Flour & Andrew Gerson of Strada Pasta
Daisy Flour is milled and produced in Annville, PA in rural Lancaster County. On the banks of the Quittapahilla Creek sits an historic Certified Organic flour mill where Roberta Strickler produces her many types of organic flour. Her flour can be found at the Fair Food Farmstand in the Reading Terminal Market and used at many local restaurants in their bread, pastry, pizza, and of course pasta.
Strada Pasta owner Andrew Gerson, who returned last year to his home here in Philly as a graduate of the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Bra, Italy, will demonstrate pasta making using Daisy Flour.
Learn all about local, fresh, small batch, organic, artisanal flour from our region's top miller and then see her product being used to make fresh pasta from a classically trained pasta maker. Food sampling and wine served.
