E-Notes from Water's Edge
 is a non-traditional service at First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley, San Diego. We meet in the "Cove" (directions) every Sunday, 9:30 AM under the leadership of Dr. Elbert Kim and the live Water's Edge band, led by Chris Durrand.

Being a Leader

 

Last night, our family went out to the bay to see the fireworks. We didn't realize it would be so crowded. People everywhere were looking for the best spot to view the spectacle.

   

As we were walking about, I could hear people asking where to go. Not knowing ourselves, we just followed the people in front of us. The people behind us thought we knew where we were going and followed us. That's typical human behavior.

 

 
This week, we begin a new church-wide sermon series, Lead Where You Are. This Sunday, we'll be looking at the Bible character, Abraham, and see how God called him to be a leader to his family.

Where do you find yourself being called to lead others? Come to the Water's Edge this Sunday as we begin a new series with our youth group joining us for celebration and worship. See you there!

One of the goals for the Water's Edge Congregation this year is to support our First Church Food Ministry: Loaves and Fishes.

Besides canned food items, milk, eggs, and bread are always welcome. You may leave your donations in The Cove, or in Linder Hall.

All about grace last Sunday...
Thanks to Pastor Jessica for filling in for Pastor Elbert and preaching about grace last Sunday! We were also happy to see so many people returning to join our WE community again.

Our service is low-key, non-traditional with weekly communion, open to everyone.
The band plays original Christian and traditional praise music. And it's ok to applaud.
