Believe In Tomorrow is celebrating a very big milestone this year.  In 2018, we are commemorating
The Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins 25th Anniversary!
25 years ago we opened the doors to families whose children were being treated at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Children's Center and we have never stopped welcoming families.  Each month, we provide 2,000 overnight accommodations to families. These families lives have been touched by the volunteerism and donations that we have received from our Believe In Tomorrow community.

To properly acknowledge our achievement we are hosting a 25th Silver Celebration on November 17! More information about activities surrounding the celebration will be coming throughout the year.

We invite you to join the Believe In Tomorrow social media communities on  Facebook ,   Instagram ,  Twitter  and now Snapchat, too! These social channels allow us to share timely information with you, as well as a way for us to hear directly from our families, donors, and volunteers.
Meet Armani

Armani's family had their lives instantly change when she was diagnosed with cancer.  This spunky cheerleader spent 72 days living at The Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins while she underwent treatments at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore.

Armani's mother, Tonia, was thankful that the family was able to stay at The Children's House, saying  "In a hotel, no one knows you, no one understands what your family is going through."  Tonia believes that The Children's House was the perfect place for their family to stay during Armani's treatments.

"The Children's House is like a home. We made friends with other
families, Armani was able to talk to and play with other kids in similar situations. We weren't alone. The staff understood, and was amazing during the whole experience."  -Tonia

While at The Children's House, Armani filled her hours with as many activities as possible, including therapy dogs, and arts and crafts activities provided by college student volunteers. In her spare time, Armani even started to make her own crafts, slime is her specialty! Often times she wasn't feeling well, but Armani would want to give the activities a try.  Like all children, Armani doesn't want to miss out on anything!

As is common among families with a critically ill child, Armani's dad often remained back home with her two school age brothers while she and her mom lived at The Children's House.  As often as possible, the boys would visit.  Together they were able to participate in her fun activities, enjoying a Ravens game, hanging out in the gaming room at the House and simply spending time together.

In January, Armani "Rang the Bell" after her last treatment!  We are so glad for her family that they are closing this chapter in Armani's cancer treatments.

Highlights from 5th Annual Prom Night in Ocean City, MD

Congratulations to Prom King Frankie Schmidt and Prom Queen Jessica Jersey

Prom Night for adults? That is the quirky idea behind a wildly successful annual fundraising event that supports Believe In Tomorrow's  Children's House By The Sea. Four men and four women comprise the Prom Court, whose charge is to raise money for Believe In Tomorrow by organizing and holding fundraising events within their circles of friends, family, and business. Every dollar they raise counts as a vote for them to be named Prom King or Queen. Competition flourishes as the Prom Court members go head to head against each other fundraising for a good cause. Collectively, this year's Prom Court raised over $100,000!

This year's Prom Night theme was a Prohibition Party. Several hundred people attended the event at Seacrets in Ocean City, MD. We were blown away by the effort our guests put into their costumes. Everyone certainly looked the part, played the part and made the event a true success.

The House at Deep Creek Lake
In the next few months, critically ill children and their families will be walking through the doors of the Believe in Tomorrow Children's House at Deep Creek Lake.

During their visit, families will find a restorative environment designed to help them relax, recharge, refresh and rebuild their lives.
The four bedroom, 4 1/2 bathroom house, has soaring ceilings and a gorgeous view of the lake below.

All our properties are built in a "barn-raising" manner, where products and services are donated to build the house.  We have had many generous individuals and businesses provide support and donated product. However, we are still in need of some specific items to complete the project.  See the list on the right, perhaps  you or your employer can help us secure donated items from our list. Please contact us at i [email protected] with any questions or leads.

We look forward to opening the doors in  2018, allowing us to double the number of families participating in our respite housing program in the Deep Creek area.
