Dear BFCCPS Community,

Both the Board of Trustees and the Parent Community Organization have open board positions for the 2015-2016 school year.  Membership in these organizations is a wonderful way to be involved as a parent here at BFCCPS.  You can nominate yourself for membership on the board of either organization, or you can nominate a fellow BFCCPS Parent with their permission. With the BFCCPS Expansion currently in process, this is an exceptionally exciting time to be involved in the future of our school. You'll find detailed information on these opportunities in the body of today's newsletter.

At long last the snow does appear to be melting!  However, since the new traffic patterns have been so successful for student arrivals between 8:45 and 9:05 AM and again for Express Dismissal we have opted to make the re-routing via Hillside Road a permanent change. This helps prevent traffic from lining up on Pleasant Street, and enables a smoother exit from our parking lot. We thank you for your continued cooperation

Sincerely,

Heather Zolnowski
Head of School

Board of Trustees:

The Board of Trustees is looking for interested members of our community to serve. The BFCCPS Board of Trustees is the governing body of the school and custodian of the school's mission.

Comprised of parents, teachers and community members with a variety of skills, the Board of Trustees oversees the school's adherence to the mission, and the financial health of the school. The Board of Trustees is also responsible for strategic planning, which includes creating shared goals and objectives for school improvement, and developing and maintaining its policies.

All parents are encouraged to consider nominating themselves and/or other parents or community members who they think would be effective board members. It is helpful, but not necessary, if nominees have been active in the school community and/or possess specific skills that enhance the board such as finance, all aspects of facilities development, project management, human resources, public relations or other governing board experience.
