Dear BFCCPS Community, 

Many thanks to all the teachers, students and staff for all the contributions, planning and organization that went into this year's absolutely amazing French Week!  I'd like to especially thank Madame Malouf and Madame Canning for such a lovely celebration of French language and culture. BFCCPS invites all students, faculty and staff to wear jeans on November 29th! Please bring in $ for our all school community service to support hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

School Calendar:
 
Please take a moment to review the  2017-2018 school year calendar. Please take note of all planned school closure, early releases and school vacations.  

The dates listed for the last day of Kindergarten, the last day of Grade 8, the Grade 8 Graduation and the last day of school should all be considered tentative.  These days are subject to change based on any unforeseen school closures. 
 
If you have ordered school photos they are being sent home this week. We will be holding a Make Up Day on November 28th for any students who missed the October Photo day or who were unhappy with their pictures. The school photographer is very willing to retake individual pictures if you are not pleased with your child's pose. 

Please note class pictures will not be retaken.  

Announcements: 


The Student Council is holding a Maker Space activity for students in Grades K-4.  Students can play around with Coding, Ozobots, Makey-Makey, Legos, Little Bits and a green screen for a fun photoshoot with props. The event will be held in the Small Cafeteria from 6-8 pm on Friday December 1st. The cost is a $3 per person or a donation of a comic book. 


Grade 8 is holding a variety of Fundraisers for their upcoming Washington DC Trip. Please save the date!

On Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 AM - 2 PM, the 8th graders will be holding an Electronics Recycling Day in the school parking lot.  Gather your old appliances and electronics and help support the 8th grade Washington, DC trip.  Contact Kathleen Hogan, kcchogan@gmail.com with any questions. ( see attached flyer)

Dec. 4 - Dec. 9 - The 8th graders will be sponsoring a redeemable can drive to raise funds for their trip to Washington, DC.  Start saving your cans and bottles with the MA 5ยข symbol now!  Cans and bottles can be dropped off near the shed during school hours from Dec. 4 - Dec. 8, with a final drop off during the electronics recycling day, Dec 9, 11 AM - 2 PM.  Any questions contact Diann Ewanchuk ewanchuk@verizon.net.

2018-2019 Enrollment Applications Now Available: 

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is now open!  

Applications can be  filled out online and hard copies are also available in the front office.  

All applications must be received before February 28th by 4pm. 

Late applications will not be accepted.  

Please contact  Mrs. Basile with any enrollment related questions. 

A Notice from the Central Office: 

Visitors:   All visitors to the school are required to sign in at the Front Office and wear a Visitor's badge. Visitors must be escorted at all times.  Thank you for your help with this!
 
Parking & Parking Lot Safety:  Parking is not allowed in marked reserved spots near the schools main entrance. These spots are reserved for the CCD program staff. 

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:  Please adhere to the posted arrival and dismissal procedures which are posted  here  our website. If you plan on parking on Queen Street to pick up your children, you must park and walk into the courtyard to pick them up. Students may not walk across the playground to Queen Street regardless of their grade level. This is for their own personal safety. 

Absence and Dismissal Notification: If your child will be absent or tardy from school, Please contact Mrs. Tappin at  ltappin@bfccps.org or at  leave a voice message at the absent and tardy line 508-541-3434 and press 4.  Additionally, if you have to make any dismissal changes please email both your child(ren)'s homeroom teacher AND Mrs. Laura Tappin by email at  ltappin@bfccps.org by no later than 2 pm.

As a reminder, BFCCPS has an  extended absence policy which indicates that extended absences for non-medical reasons for more than 10 consecutive school days will not be approved and will result in dis-enrollment from BFCCPS unless caused by exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, such as a natural disaster, serious accident, or other situation deemed exceptional and unavoidable by the HOS.

Cold weather has arrived!  Please be sure to send your students daily with seasonally appropriateouterwear. We will continue to have outdoor courtyard, recess and dismissal whenever possible.
