About
Our 13th Annual Benefit's Recipient
T
he tradition of Triple Threat's Annual Benefit performance started 13 years ago, when a need arose for one of our Triple Threat families. Triple Threat realized the life-changing power of the benefit performance when we were able to raise over $4,000 for that family. In the years since, Triple Threat has used the Benefit to raise money for a different children's charity each year. This year, we've decided to once again help a family in need - one very near and dear to Triple Threat.
Cheryl Lee met Triple Threat owner Kim in 1997 when she started teaching dance with her at West Forsyth HS. She was an original member of the Triple Threat family, encouraging Kim and Holly to open the studio and then teaching classes while Holly performed in the Radio City Rockettes and during Kim's maternity leaves. Cheryl additionally helped with the studio by escorting a trip to see Holly perform as a Rockette, calling the recitals on the headset from backstage, answering phones in the office, and most importantly, by loving our students at the studio. Cheryl has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which has spread to her liver. She travels to Winston-Salem from Wilmington every other week, with her wonderful husband Brian, to receive treatment. Cheryl and Brian also have two children, Turner and William, ages 9 and 8. We want to use the Benefit performance this year to support this family by raising funds to help cover medical, travel, and any unforeseen expenses that arise with this type of illness. We hope each family at Triple Threat will stand behind us for this outpouring of love, as we can all see ourselves in this family. Thank you for your love and support of an amazing family.
