On Friday December 8th, RMBA students successfully raised $7,500 towards the annual campaign! Students in EC3 through 12th grade raised the funds by participating in both a glow run and color run and collecting funds per lap. Thank you to all our wonderful students and parents who helped out!
We had a tiny glitch in our system 2 days ago when we sent out the Yom Chesed email and video. We hope you enjoy watching the video (link fixed) of the amazing day of chesed in memory of Rabbi Joseph Radinsky z'l.
Ultimate Parsha
In this week's parsha, Miketz, Pharaoh conveys his dreams to Yosef--of healthy cows being swallowed by weak cows and of seven healthy ears of grain being consumed by seven unhealthy ears. Yet when Yosef interprets the dreams (which are in fact a single prophesy), Yosef focuses first on the upcoming years of famine, not on the years of abundance. Similarly, there is no recorded comment from the Egyptian people during the years of plenty, but when the seven years of famine occur the Torah notes "just as Yosef had said."

2 Truths & A Lie
We are excited to feature someone from the RMBA family in every issue of the Buzz via this fun game! Want to be featured? Email Tania Levenstein your 2 truths and a lie!

2nd Annual Yom Chesed

On Sunday December 10, over 200 volunteers came together for a day of community service in memory of Rabbi Joseph Radinsky z'l, who was known for all his acts of chesed. Students, parents, teachers, and members of the community had a plethora of activities to choose from both on and off campus.
Glow & Color Run

Students had a great time at last week's glow and color run! Lower school students and staff participated in a morning glow run held in the gym and completed over 5,000 laps together. Upper school students took their run outdoors with an exciting color run in the cool weather. Thank you to 10th grade student Rena Schwartz for designing the amazing glow in the dark RMBA spirit shirts. Click here to view more pictures from the color run, and here for the glow run.

Staff Chanukah Party

On Tuesday evening, faculty and staff celebrated the upcoming holiday with a Sushi and Sufganiyot themed pre-Chanukah party! Attendees exchanged gifts via a white elephant game and everyone had a great time socializing with each other after-hours. Most popular gift: Starbucks gift card! Teachers do love their coffee!
LS Chanukah Lighting

Every morning which started on Wednesday (through next Tuesday) Lower School gathers together in the lobby to light the candles from the previous night. Throughout the week there have been various Chanukah activities and lots of holiday spirit in the halls.
Welcome to Tzfat

Lower School students visited their next stop along the Ulpan Maasi journey in Israel--Tzfat! Bnot Sherut Osi and Shira had a Chanukah activity waiting for them in the mystical city-- candle decorating! Students learned all about the special city while decorating candles with colorful wax.
Dreidel, Dreidel

Morah Aviva's EC4 class learned how to play the dreidel game this week. They also made their own spinning tops while learning all about the festival of lights.
Filled with Sweetness

Students in 1st grade through 12th were treated to delicious sufganiyot (filled donuts) in honor of Chanukah! The sufganiyot were all filled with different fillings, and students voted on their favorite ones!
Beautifying Beren

Throughout the year all of the students and teachers have had the opportunity to paint their own rocks to be placed on the rock path at RMBA's Cliffwood entrance. On Sunday, many parents and community members also participated in helping to beautify Beren Academy. The rocks have been placed on the path (which we hope you will enjoy!). There are plenty of rocks (and room left) if you would like to leave your mark on RMBA. Please be in touch with art director Colleen Bryant to come and paint your rock.
