Our Jewish Texas State Fair & Museum was a huge success! Students in 1st grade through 5th showed off their projects in their classroom exhibits to peers, family, and friends, and everyone enjoyed a delicious communal chili dinner! Thank you to Lower School General Studies Principal Elisheva Levitt for coordinating the event and the teachers and volunteers for all their hard work.
Ultimate Parsha
In this week's parsha, Ki Tisa, the Jews are each asked to give a half shekel. Why a half shekel? Since the shekel was known to be worth 20 gerah, why weren't the Jews asked for 10 gerah? This certainly seems simpler. The math teacher in me would like to think the Torah wanted to introduce us to and make us proficient in fractions, but that hardly seems likely.

Go Texan Day

Students in early childhood and lower school enjoyed kicking off the start of the Rodeo season with the city-wide Go Texan Day! Students and teachers dressed in their Texan best (cowboy/girl boots, belt buckles etc.) and enjoyed a visiting reptile zoo activity. Click here to view all the fun that was had.
Crazy Hats and Decades and Future Jobs, Oh My!

Students in early childhood through high school (and their teachers too!) had a great time dressing up all week to get in the spirit of Purim! Each day had a different theme, and students and teachers really got to show off their creativity with their different costumes.
