Once again the Torah Fair was a great success!

Lower School students displayed their projects about various mitzvot, holidays, and people from the Torah. Projects were made in school with recycled materials including boxes, bottles, and paper.

Parents and students had the opportunity to learn and play various games. Kol Hakavod to all the students and the Hebrew and Judaic teachers for putting together such a meaningful evening.
Ultimate Parsha
In this week's parsha, Bamidbar, we read the passage "these are the offspring of Aharon and Moshe..." followed by a listing of only Aharon's sons. Why are they also called the offspring of Moshe? Rashi and Ramban suggest that Moshe's Torah instruction to Aharon's sons transformed him into their spiritual father. We can learn from this that teaching Torah gives life to our students.

Yom Yerushalayim Celebration

This week we celebrated the 51st anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem. Bnot Sherut Shira and Osi prepared a great scavenger hunt for Middle School and escape the room for High School.

Students had a great time celebrating Jerusalem.
A Great Activity to Conclude
"Three Dimensional Figures Chapter"

The seventh grade Pre-Algebra class completed a chapter about volume and surface area of three dimensional figures.

As a final activity, Mrs. Rosenzweig challenged each of the students to build an icosahedron, then find its surface area and volume.
Coordinate Graphing

The fourth graders in Ms. Massey's class have been learning about the four planes in coordinate graphing.

The students have enjoyed graphing various heroes and villains from cartoon characters to Marvel characters.

First Grade Trip to Moody Gardens

First grade students enjoyed a field trip to Moody Gardens this week where their classroom lessons came to life in the Rainforest Pyramid. Students enjoyed an up-close and interactive experience with endangered plants and animals in one of the truest replicas of a real rainforest.
Thank you to Mrs. Schneider for the great trip and to chaperones Dikla Pickelner, Batel Vaknin, Yaffa Terril, Juliett Melnik, Jason Rosenzweig, and Dorinda Massey.
Geometry Kickball

Mr. Riklin's third grade class introduced Geometry by going over angles, perimeter, area, degrees, percentages, and fractions by analyzing and playing a game of kickball.

The students made the infield by combining four 90 degree angles to make a diamond. They practiced the technique by linking together the thumbs and forefingers of their teammates to make a diamond. Once this was completed, they put a real-world spin on it by placing a base on each of the corners.
Stock Market
Ms. Jan Bigham's 4th grade Montessori students Gabi Brown, Michael Sulman, and Talia Goldfine won second place at the Regional Stock Market Game. They are the youngest class to win.
