Property Tax Breaks for BernCo Veterans
Do you know a veteran who owns property in Bernalillo County, and may not be taking advantage of available property tax relief? If so, please share this info with them. The BernCo Assessor has partnered with the New Mexico Department of Veteran Services to help guide our veterans through the tax relief application process.
Several workshops are scheduled and are all being held at the county assessor's office located downtown , next workshop is Thursday, Jan. 18.

Behavioral Health Subcommittees Seek Volunteer Members
Résumés are being accepted from members of the community who wish to participate on subcommittees that will help decide how to spend funding set aside to create a regional behavioral health care system in the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County metro area. Subcommittees are comprised of consumers, family members, subject matter experts, and technical advisors. Click here for more info and how to apply.
County Fitness Centers Can Help Keep New Year’s Resolutions
If you've made a New Year’s resolution to get fit, finding a low-cost, convenient, workout spot can make that resolution a little tough to keep. Not this year! BernCo has six fitness centers to help you succeed in 2018 -- and one of them is close to home or work. The hours also make it easy to get in, get out and get on your way. Nominal fees apply, please call individual community centers for costs. Veterans, city/county public safety employees, and seniors 55+ are free of charge. More info for fitness centers.
