Peabody Trio

The Peabody Trio's 2017-2018 programs feature trios of Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, and Dvořák, as well as German composer Wolfgang Rihm and Scottish composer James Macmillan.

They are also pleased to offer two collaborations.

There is a program with violist Maria Lambros comprising the two Mozart piano quartets (plus Schubert's E-flat major trio).

There is a program with clarinetist Charles Neidich opening with a Dvořák or Schubert trio and concluding with Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time.

New Century Saxophone Quartet

The New Century Saxophone Quartet offers its usual wide range of fascinating repertory in 2017-2018.

There are two New Century Mix programs, which comprise everything from Bach to New Century commissions.

There is a New Century Fun program that features their signature arrangements of Gershwin and Bernstein - and lots more.

There is New Century Commissions, which includes music of David Lang, Michael Torke, Barbara Kolb, and other composers who have written for NCSQ.

There is The Art of Fugue, a set of programs featuring Bach's landmark composition (which, I might add, was not specified as being for any particular instrumentation, and just happens to fit the saxophone quartet perfectly).

And finally, New Century is delighted to offer A New Century Christmas, based on their album featuring arrangements commissioned from thirteen of their favorite composers.

Horszowski Trio Update

I am pleased to announce that Chamber Music America has awarded one of their classical commissioning grants to the Horszowski Trio, for a new work from Andreia Pinto-Correia. The work will be completed in September 2017, and available for performances starting January 2018.

The work, titled The Night Migrations, will be approximately 20 minutes in length, and is based on a poem by  Louise Glück of the same title. (Read the poem.)

The Horszowski Trio and violist Masumi Per Rostad have updated the programming plans for their collaboration. Their offerings include all three Brahms quartets, both Fauré quartets, and the Schumann quartet. You can see Horszowski/Rostad plans here. (Or download them here.)
