In today's Gospel reading, Jesus described the two greatest Commandments in all of our faith.

These two Great Commandments are two very simple tasks. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Despite how complicated and how intricate our faith is, everything we really need to do in order to live it out properly is summed up in two simple statements.

I think that Jesus' teaching in this passage isn't just a lesson about our faith, but a lesson that we can apply to our everyday lives. We need to step back, and take a look at what's important to us, and live our lives based on these simple parameters.

In short, Christ wants us to be close to him in our everyday lives, and the first step on that path is realizing where our priorities lie, and that is with Christ.
