Friday Night Kabbalat Shabbat Services, July 6 &
Shabbat Morning Services , July 7

The Ritual and High Holiday Committees are pleased to welcome Cantor Deborah Bletstein as our High Holiday Cantor in the Tent service this year!

We are fortunate that Cantor Bletstein will be visiting the Bet Torah community on Shabbat, July 6-7, 2018.  She is a gifted and experienced Cantor, having served most recently as the Cantor at Congregation Neveh Shalom in Portland, Oregon.  Please attend services Friday night and Saturday morning to meet Cantor Bletstein! This is a great opportunity to hear Cantor Bletstein sing a portion of the Kabbalat Shabbat and the Shabbat morning Services.
Friday night, July 6th is also our
Boomers Shabbat Event

This will be a community service beginning at 6:30 pm, followed by an optional Friday night dinner.  All members of the Bet Torah community are invited to the dinner, but seats must be reserved ahead of time. So, if you are interested, be sure to RSVP by July 3rd and identify all the attendees in your party.(Boomers who attended a Boomers event in the past year are invited to attend the dinner at no charge. For all others, the charge is $18 per person or $36 per family.)

Museum of The Moving Image
& Louis Armstrong House

Thursday, July 12

We are off to Queens for a day of entertainment greats. We start the day with a visit to the Museum Of The Moving Image. Lunch is at Ben’s Best Kosher Deli (Not connected with any other “Ben’s”). Named one of the best Jewish Deli’s in America, Ben’s Best was featured in the movie, “The Comedian” with Robert De Niro and Danny DeVito (They’re Jewish? Who knew?).

After lunch we will visit the Louis Armstrong House and Museum. Louis Armstrong was one of the most recognizable entertainers in the world when he chose the working-class neighborhood of Corona, Queens to be his home in 1943. “And you take this neighborhood we live in,” Louis said in 1964. “We’re right out here with the rest of the colored folk and the Puerto Ricans and Italians and the Hebrew cats. We don’t need to move out in the suburbs to some big mansion with lots of servants and yardmen and things.” So, “Hebrew cats”, You will have the chance to learn a lot more about one of the 20th century’s greatest musicians.

METNY Encampment 2018
Sunday, August 19 - 26 at Camp Ramah, Wingdale

Encampment is an amazingly fun time at the end of the summer, right before school starts.  For a week, 450+ teens in grades 6-8 (Kadima) and 9-12 (USY) live in a welcoming, exciting Jewish environment.  Encampment is open to current 5th-11th graders  (who will be starting 6th-12th grade in September).

Each of our days is filled with camp activities like  Color War joyous prayer services sports and outdoor adventure meals engaging Jewish learning , and  time to just relax  and get to know new friends at beautiful Camp Ramah.  Encampment is unlike any other program, and you don't want to miss it!

Bet Torah Youth believes strongly in this program and so we want to provide financial support. We offer a  $325 reimbursement of tuition  for those attending the full week (that's 50% off the early bird tuition).

Are not able to attend the full week and can only go for a few days? We also offer $100 reimbursement for those that attend for a half-week.

The only requirements for the reimbursement is that you are a Bet Torah congregant in good standing, and the teen be up to date on youth group membership dues for 2018-2019.
