"ECONOMIC INJURY 101"
Webinar on January 24, 2018
Storefront
Did you know that even if you didn't have any physical damage to your business after Hurricane Harvey, you may qualify for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan? If your business is located in one of the following counties and your sales declined as a result of the storm you could have access to a low-interest, long-term loan:

Bastrop, Fayette, Lee, Caldwell, Travis, Williamson*

The deadline to apply for an economic injury loan is May 25, 2018. We have an expert from the SBA Office of Disaster Assistance scheduled to present an "Economic Injury 101" webinar on January 24th to help you figure out if this is something you should consider. Questions he'll be answering:
  • who should be applying for economic injury loans?
  • what is the process?
  • what are the terms?
  • how long does it take to get approved?
  • are there any drawbacks?
  • what are the biggest mistakes people make?
  • what are reasons for denial?

VENDOR SPEED NETWORKING
Meet DPS Buyers January 17, 2018
DPS Speed Networking
What's the hardest part of government contracting? Getting in front of the person who buys what you have to sell. It's all about building relationships so the buyers remember you when it's time for the next purchase. The Department of Public Service is trying something new that we think will make it easier for you to get in front of the right person!

Their first ever "Speed Networking" day is scheduled for next Wednesday, January 17th. The event is specifically designed to allow vendors a concise, focused opportunity to introduce themselves and learn about the agency's procurement and contracting process. Sign up now to meet with a DPS procurement officer. You may sign up once per category, just make sure you don't overlap times with your other meetings. Click on the category below to sign up:

If you have any questions, please email Harland.Garcia@dps.texas.gov. Event will be held at the Criminal Law Enforcement Auditorium, DPS Headquarters, Building E, 6100 Guadalupe, Austin, 78752.  *No contracts guaranteed.
