Visits to Member Institutions

Susan Goodin, PharmD, executive officer of the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (BTCRC), recently began visits to member institutions to gain a better understanding of the scientific strengths at each institution and to identify collaborative research opportunities. During each visit, Dr. Goodin meets with the cancer center leadership, its Steering Committee representative, appropriate faculty and staff, and the Institutional Review Board to discuss BTCRC opportunities, procedures for trial development and conduct, budgeting, and philanthropy. The most recent visit was to the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota, and visits to Iowa and Northwestern are currently being scheduled.

BTCRC Q&A: Regulatory and Safety

BTCRC administrative headquarters continues our Q&A series covering topics of interest to our member institutions. This month, we address a number of questions related to regulatory and safety, including:

  • What are the responsibilities of BTCRC regulatory managers?
  • What information should I send to the regulatory manager?
  • What are common errors?
  • If a trial requires an IND, who is the holder of the IND?
  • To what regulatory authorities should I report my SAE and who does the reporting?
