Bill Evans Banjo November 2014 Newsletter

It's time for the 3rd Annual California Banjo Extravaganza featuring Mark Johnson,
Tony Furtado & Our All-Star Band, November 13-16. You can also catch us live from anywhere in the world via Concert Window on Saturday, Nov 15th, 8 pm Pacific.
Dear Friends,

I'm excited to share the news that the 3rd Annual California Banjo Extravaganza is just around the corner, with four concerts, a Banjo Mini-Camp from November 13-16 and a live webcast from Concert Window on Saturday, November 15. This year's featured performers are Tony Furtado and Mark Johnson along with the return of our All-Star Band of John Reischman, Chad Manning, Jim Nunally and Sharon Gilchrist.

Tony Furtado is a northern California native who won two National Banjo Championships while still a teenager. He's been called a genius on banjo and slide guitar and his own creative hybrid of Americana and indie rock has won him fans from the bluegrass, acoustic and jam band scenes for over a decade now. Tony returns to an acoustic setting for these concerts, reunited with Jim Nunally and John Reischman, who he performed with here in California in the 1980's and early 1990's.

Mark Johnson is the recipient of the 2012 Steve Martin Award for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass. Mark has revolutionized the art of clawhammer banjo by adapting its techniques and rhythms to playing in a bluegrass context. An engaging performer, this is Mark's first northern California tour.
