"A lusciously intellectual dance-theatre probe into the nature of history" - Backstage The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will perform Serenade/The Proposition for the final time, concluding a three-year international tour. For this final performance, Bill T. Jones himself will appear in the production in the role of "Actor". Serenade/The Proposition draws on the Civil War era to examine how we talk to each other and to ourselves about the past. In a set of moveable columns animated by video projection, time and place shift as the cast of dancers, musicians and actor assemble and reassemble a sense ofhistory, both shared and personal. The original live score draws from Mozart's Requiem, "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "Dixie" to create a playful, contemporary collage for cello, piano and soprano. | | Serenade/The Proposition Preview |

The United Nations of Comedy Tour will launch in Charlottesville, Virginia, with five national comedians sharing the Paramount Theater stage for the biggest comedy show in Charlottesville history. The show will feature five of today's funniest comedians, as seen on Comedy Central, BET Comic View, HBO, Showtime, and other national programs: Gina Brillon (based in New York), David Foster (New York), Bridget McManus (California), Sheng Wang (New York) and Skiba (Washington, D.C.). The United Nations of Comedy Tour is the latest effort from tour promoter Ty Cooper, the force behind the recent National Stand-Up Comedy Series in Charlottesville, where each of these comedians was a stand-alone headliner. "My mission is to promote multicultural diversity and bring people together through laughter," Cooper said. | | Sheng Wang - Persuading the paper towel machine |

Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese Texan who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving standup community of the San Francisco Bay Area. He performs jokes based on personal experiences and addresses common non-sense with honesty and ill logic. David Foster is one of the top comedians in New York today. While many comics are sardonically cynical, David humorously and insightfully points out the stupidity of such popular theories and sentiments. Recognized for her provocative and uninhibited style, stand-up comic and actor Bridget McManus stars in her own show called "Bridget McManus Presents: That Time of The Month" on the LOGO Network. Gina Brillon is one of the funniest New Faces of the Latino and mainstream comedy scene. Starting when she was only 17 yrs old, she blew the crowd away with her very first performance at Stand-UP NY. Skiba reigns out of Washington, D.C. From the toughest comedy clubs around the country to the college tour, Skiba is one of the hottest comedians on the circuit. His style of comedy is animated and straight to the core.
