The husbands of two Birmingham Natural Beauties are
finalists for the philanthropic competition Mr. Young Hot Birmingham.
My husband, Lyord Watson, Jr. (pictured right) named The Birmingham Change Fund as his charity of choice. Lyord is a founding member of this group of African-Americans who have woven together their resources to create positive change in Birmingham. Since 2004, The Birmingham Change Fund, which focuses on the power of collective philanthropy, has provided more than $25,000 in grants to Birmingham based organizations that focus on education, economics, and health care. All funds that BCF raises through this campaign will go toward tornado relief.
La'shara's husband, John Long named The Birmingham Urban League as his charity of choice. John is Vice President of the BUL Young Professionals, which empowers young professionals to change and serve their communities. Their mission is to support the Birmingham Urban League Movement through volunteerism, philanthropy and membership development.
