ATLANTA, GA/ August 2, 2012 - In the midst of the controversy surrounding the President of Chick Fil A, Dan Cathy's stance on his support of the biblical definition of marriage, Bishop Paul Morton and Changing A Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church purchased 200 sandwiches to show support their support on Chick Fil A Appreciation Day. The sandwiches were passed out last night at Changing A Generation East, which is located at 2600 HF Shepherd Drive, Decatur, Ga, immediately following the midweek service.
In his pulpit on Sunday, Bishop Morton spoke about the controversy and reminded members that though Cathy's stance is being made out to appear to focus solely on same sex marriage, the bible speaks of other biblical standards in marriage like adultery and divorce and we need to support as well. He ended the statement by stressing the importance of Christians supporting each other and to participate in Chick Fil A Appreciation Day.
On why he felt the need to support, Bishop Morton shared, "There are certain stands that we must make. This is a positive stand. To stand with someone that believes in the biblical definition of marriage, we had to show our support."
The 62 year old Pastor used the power of social media and tweeted frequently to his 30,000 Twitter (@bishoppmorton) followers and 20,000 Facebook (Bishop Paul S. Morton) friends to support Chick Fil A.
