October 28th, 2010: What a busy month!
We've
got product news, video, an engineer profile, a customer
application story and much more for you in this newsletter
edition.
Most
of all, we are pleased to introduce PRT2, a
substantially expanded range of precision ring slides, ring
segments, bearings and ancillary components to suit virtually every
rotary and track system application. Check out yesterday's press
release on PRT2 here, and learn more about the added and extended
benefits. The PRT product line, now available in stainless steel as
standard, includes a wider range of sizes with lower and higher
load capacities. This friction-free, debris-tolerant system also
includes several new options which comprise of increased bearing
and lubricator sizes, floating bearings, fixed center carriages
with clamping brake, continuous bleed lubrication to reduce
downtime, and the availability of pinions. Learn more [

Congratulations
to our WD40 pen winners from the September
newsletter. We will be running another mini
contest soon, so stay tuned! Last month's answer: Bud Wisecarver's
life has been ruled by two main themes - motion and "innovation".

The MHD heavy duty track
line is excellent for high load and heavy duty applications such as
robotic transfer systems in the welding industry and assembly
processes in the automotive industry. MHD is ideal for many heavy
mechanical handling industries. The MHD comes as a kit with tracks
and a set of four bearing blocks, complete with a left and right
block assembly.

The
challenge? An
ice cream manufacturing company had a carton pusher application
which required a corrosion resistant bearing component capable of
handling high speeds and smooth motion. Containers filled with ice
cream are placed into position for the final stage of packaging and
loading into shipping boxes. As the carton pusher shoves the
containers into the boxes, the components of the pusher are coming
into contact with melted ice cream, therefore causing potential
corrosion to the exposed parts.
The
solution! Bishop-Wisecarver's stainless steel
DualVee guide wheels, with their sealed bearing design and low
drag coefficient, proved to be the ideal solution for this
demanding application. Designed specifically for excellent
resistance to corrosion and compatibility with FDA standards,
Bishop-Wisecarver's off-the-shelf stainless steel wheels and track
not only provide the perfect solution for the food and beverage
industry but also for any extreme environment packaging
application. A variety of material options such as metals, coatings
and grease can be specified to achieve superior performance.
Now that's pretty cool results! What's your application challenge?
