Does Your BIG Dream or Vision Seem Too BIG To Do?
 
I know the feeling, but the #1 REASON people do NOT achieve their goals,
is because they do NOT TAKE ACTION!

You may be saying, "Okay, God's given me an astonishing vision, and I've therefore set myself to be one of those predicted 'Wealthy Entrepreneurs' this year, but my vision is so big, where... how do I begin?"

I say Congratulations! God already knew it would be too big for you, but not for HIM!! But, by deciding to become a wealthy entrepreneur through your vision, you've taken the first step toward releasing your BIG blessing and purpose into the earth this year. Feeling the overwhelm? That's okay. Just stop! Deeply breathe in that amazing wealthy success energy He has surrounding you... AND exhale all that toxic fear and anxiety. NOW, let's begin! 

 

Do you know that the 2012 marketplace has been appointed to favor you, and is awaiting the solutions you'll bring to the lives of others? Your customers and clients are in great expectation of the breakthroughs that will come to them from you! You've overcome the biggest hurdle of all... to just do it! And if you still have a bit of fear staring you in the face, that's okay too, just do it afraid. This is YOUR opportune time!

 

What I'm about to share with you today is exactly what I did throughout 2011 in preparing and creating the programs and purposes of  Glory Realm Living and  Be Soul SuccessfulAs an entrepreneur, you need to stay productive and on task. My favorite productivity acronym is F.O.C.U.S... Following On Course Until Successful. Focusing keeps you on track so you'll birth your dreams into reality. 

I discovered that one of Mary Kay's millionaire secrets to success was that she determined to write her goals. According to an article I read, when Mary Kay was asked what she attributed her success to, she responded, "Well, one of the most important principles that I ever learned is to write each evening the six most important things I have to do tomorrow. I also number them in the order of their importance."  

 

Your first step is to write down your goals. In the book of Habakkuk, he records that God's answer to his perplexities was that the vision becomes plain when it's written down so that you can see it (Hab. 2:2). A written plan brings clarity and challenges you to take forward action. In writing out your vision, you see the big picture and end result of where you want to be. Now you can make decisions based on where you're going, instead of "spinning your wheels" from where you are right now. 

 

Before I began working with clearly established goals and a plan, I continually did what I "felt" was necessary at the time, instead of taking accurate steps of wisdom toward my success. I was being busy, but not productive. When you work without a plan, you sometimes end up striving to the wind, you're busy blowing around, but you lose control. Then weeks go by, and you look back and discover that you've not accomplished what you intended. Also, when you plan from where you are, it's harder to see how to enlarge your vision going forward. 

 

My challenge to you this week is for you to start by writing the 3 to 5 amazing things you want to see accomplished in 2012... no matter how BIG and outrageous they seem. You will then proceed toward breaking these down into bite-sized achievable actions that will allow you to accomplish your dreams. 

 

Let's look at each of your BIG and outrageous goals and evaluate just how you'll apply these principles. Your next step is to break the goals down so they'll be attainable. Remember our S.M.A.R.T. acronym from last week's ezine? 

  • S = Specific
  • M = Measurable
  • A = Attainable
  • R = Relevant/Realistic
  • T = Time-bound/Timely

  • Be Specific - Right now, your BIG Outrageous Dream may seem vague and far away. To bring clarity, you've got to get specific. For example, let's say Ms. Widget want to make $100,000 by the end of this year selling her awe-inspiring widgets. Well, it's a very vague picture to see $100,000 when it's almost March, and she's sold nothing so far. Just believing for $100,000 by year-end and desiring to have her widgets to zoom out the door is an awesome outrageous BIG dream, but it "ain't enough!" So, be clear and specific in determining the What, Why, and How you'll sell the widgets. Then as you move forward wisely with clarity, your gift and purpose will seem to miraculously begin to make room for you to succeed, and bring your widgets before great men (Prov. 18:16). 

    Make Goals Measurable - Begin to break your BIG dreams into bite-sized pieces so that you can track and measure your progress. Ms. Widget determined that she would need to sell at least 100 widgets per month to reach her $100,000, but this goal is only one measurement. Ms. Widget needs to establish a measurable plan of how she'll get her widget in front of more than enough "targeted prospective buyers" throughout the year to get them sold. Ms. Widget will need to establish an online and offline marketing campaign, build her prospect list, place ads, exhibit in trade shows, reach out to form affiliate partnerships to get her widgets into XYZ stores, and so on. This is how to turn your goals into ACTION, and to measure and track as you go (Luke 14:28). 

    Make Goals Attainable - Make your goals possible to reach. Assuming Ms. Widget has completed the process of readying a marketable, salable product, now she wants to create a self-help book to enhance the use of her awe-inspiring product. It would not be wise for her to set a goal of having her book done in a month if she's planned to have back-to-back trade shows and demo presentations over the month of March to display his widgets to consumers. But maybe he can write 20 pages per month for 3 months to get it done. You will more likely commit to reaching your goals if they are reasonable and achievable (Phil 3:14). 

    Make Them Relevant/Realistic - A goal of selling 1,000 widgets this year and her only plan is to make daily cold calls is not a realistic marketing plan. Set goals that can be realistically attained through your persistent efforts. Ms. Widget's bite-sized goals should fit into her plans of selling 1,000 widgets this year, AND into her primary purpose of desiring to drastically improve the lives of her target consumers through the use of her widget. So devise your plan into monthly, weekly, even daily tasks that are relevant to your end result (Rom. 2:7). 

    Make Them Time-bound - Set deadlines throughout this year, this month, next week, this week and today. Then stick to your set deadlines so that you'll achieve your goal. By nature, we will put off deadlines as often as possible. But in doing so, we end up in the same old boat, getting the same old results. If Ms. Widget sticks with her deadlines and stays persistent, she'll sell those 1,000 widgets and have that $100,000, or more, by the end of 2012 (Gal. 6:9)! 

    To assure that you bite-size your way to your BIG Outrageous Dream Success, Start TODAY! Review your goals on a regular basis, tracking your progress at least monthly to ensure you're always in line with your vision.
