Congressman Jack Bergman will be the guest of honor at a Freshman Forum to be held in Petoskey on Thursday, February 23, 2017.  These forums are coordinated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and will be co-hosted locally by the Charlevoix Area and Petoskey Regional Chambers of Commerce as a Hot Topics event.

BURN BOOT CAMP
The Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital Wellness Workshop presents a weekly "Burn Boot Camp" every Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm.  This class is as intense as you want it to be, what you put into it, is what you will get out of it.  It's a 60 minute total-body, high/low impact, higher intensity (your choice), fast paced workout.  The workout consists of a combination of plyometrics/cardio and compound exercises for endurance and strengthening, then finishes with a great stretch.  All levels of fitness are welcome and modifications will be provided as needed.  Bring your ENERGY and FOCUS!  Class held at Charlevoix Hospitals Wellness Workshop.  Call 231.437.3482 for more information.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOSTS SILENT FLICK & PIZZA EVENING!
To kick off the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the railroad in Charlevoix, the Charlevoix Historical Society is hosting a Silent Flick and Pizza evening at the Depot, Depot Beach, on Wednesday, February 8 at 6:00pm. 

The film, staring Buster Keaton, is "The General" referring to a locomotive that takes him into many misadventures during the Civil War.  Middle School student and vintage film buff Evan Beane will present a short program.

LUNCHEON LECTURE LOOKS AT COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS. 
North Central Michigan College's Luncheon Lecture program on Friday, February 10, will look at community corrections.  The program will be held in the LIbrary Conference Center on the Petoskey campus.  Lunch begins at 11:30 am and the program begins at noon.

Dean Cosens directs a county program that diverts non-violent offenders from jail or prison while holding them accountable, maintaining public safety and saving money.  A veteran of the 82nd Airborn Division with a degree in psychology, Dean shows how his passion for public service and some sophisticated tools are helping people get their lives back on tract.

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra is hosting, and extends an invitation for all to attend, a "Day for Music" on Saturday, February 18th at Petoskey Middle School located at 801 Northmen Drive in Petoskey .
