Congressman Jack Bergman will be the guest of honor at a Freshman Forum to be held in Petoskey on Thursday, February 23, 2017.  These forums are coordinated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and will be co-hosted locally by the Charlevoix Area and Petoskey Regional Chambers of Commerce as a Hot Topics event.

HATHA YOGA CLASS INTRODUCED AT WELLNESS WORKSHOP
The Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital Wellness Workshop introduces its new Hatha Yoga Class every Monday and Friday from 7:30-8:30am.  An anatomy based practice that is suitable for any level practitioner, Hatha yoga requires no prior experience . The yoga sequences, along with breath work and relaxation techniques will assist in building strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and increasing body awareness.  The use of props, blocks, or blankets make poses easily modified to suit the individual.  All levels of fitness are welcome and modifications will be provided as needed.  The class is taught by Lisa Hepner, a licensed physical therapist assistant with Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital.  For more information, call 231.437.3482

DARK LADY OF THE SONNETS
On Sunday, February 12th at 6pm, the Charlevoix Circle of Arts Armchair Theatre presents a play on video.  Dark Lady of the Sonnets, directed by Ruth Willis.  In this film, the lives of William Shakespeare and fellow playwright Christopher Marlowe meet the Dark Lady in the comedy/drama, which is full of passion, and intrigue personal, political and artistic.

NORTH CENTRAL OFFERS FREE INTERNATIONAL LECTURE OF JAPAN   
North Central Michigan College will present a free international lecture, "Welcome to the Land of the Rising Sun" on Tuesday, February 14 at 11:30 am in the Iron Horse Cafe on the Petoskey campus.  Dr. Gretchen Carroll, associate dean of Business, Manufacturing and Technology at North Central, will talk about the food, culture, customs and etiquette of Japan.
