MEET OUR CHAMBER AMBASSADO
I joined the ambassador committee in 2014. It was a great opportunity to get to know the chamber staff better and meet fellow members. I feel being an ambassador benefits my business by giving me venues to meet many of the people attending the events. I personally am able to give back to the community that I love so much and at every opportunity I promote Charlevoix to my clients and friends. Also, as ambassadors we help to promote the Chamber to non members and welcome new members when they join the organization.
One thing I love about Charlevoix is its natural beauty. My husband John and I are avid boaters and fisherman. We could not imagine living anywhere is the country without acc
ess to the Great Lakes.
Most people do not know that because of my husband's business, I've been fortunate enough to travel to Europe and Asia. Even though I've visited some historic and famous places, I am still able to appreciate the distinct beauty of our local community.

CHAMBER ALLIANCE SETS "RIGHT - SIZED" 2017 LEGISLATIVE GOALS
Northern Michigan is a special part of the Great Lakes State with unique challenges and opportunities in its business community.
That's why the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance will focus its 2017 legislative priorities on state and federal policies and programs that are specific to its region, to help businesses in rural areas continue contributing to Michigan's robust economic comeback.
"Partners in the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance understand that communities outside Michigan's major metropolitan areas have their own conditions where 'one size does not fit all' in terms of incentives and policies to help grow business in our region," said Kent Wood, Director of Government Relations for the Alliance and the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce. "We will focus our efforts on right-sized solutions that take good ideas being used, or create new ideas, and shape them to work in our region."

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK- MOVERS FOR MOMS PROGRAM SEEKING DONATIONS
First launched in 2007 by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Movers for Moms® program seeks to recognize moms in crisis on Mother's Day by arranging delivery of gifts to women living in local shelters on the holiday weekend. In 2016, every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location across 39 states collected more than 285,000 items for women living in shelters on Mother's Day.
To participate in Movers for Moms® 2017, your team only needs to commit to receiving collection boxes and to promote the collection within your organization. That is it. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will handle all the other details, including the pick-up and delivery of gifts to the Milwaukee Women's Center.
This year we'll be delivering our donations box the week of March 20th, and picking it up the week before Mother's day, May 14th. To learn more please call 231-947-8880.

The Charlevoix Circle of Arts will be hosting a Juried Fine Arts Exhibition opening on March 31 and running through April 28th. The exhibition is open to Michigan artists age 18 and older. The juror for this year's show is Andrea Gerring. Andrea is an adjunct art history instructor at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, and Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids. More
