Health Screens include: Total Cholesterol, HDL, TC/HDL Ratio, Glucose Level, Body Mass Index, Muscle and Fat Percentages, and Blood Pressure Reading. No fasting required. Cost for the service: $15.
Hemoglobin A1C levels can also be done for a known or borderline diabetic for an additional $10.
Participants will receive test results at the screening and a log to track progress. A Registered Nurse will adapt health consultation and educational materials to individual results.

CONSTRUCTION IS STARTING AT THE CHARLEVOIX POOL
We are excited to announce the Charlevoix Area Community Pool is starting renovations and will be closed starting Sunday, May 7th for approximately eight weeks!
Work will begin to improve areas surrounding the Pool itself including repairs to exterior walls and the Pool deck.
Ongoing fundraising is supporting this work and our final phase of construction which will include renovations for new accessible locker rooms, an improved work area and incorporating a multipurpose room.
We anticipate being open for most, if not all, of the final phase.

BAKER COLLEGE AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM EARNS NATIONAL REACCREDITATION
Local business pros key to program evaluation.
The automotive services technology program offered at Baker College's Center for Transportation Technology (CTT) has received reaccreditation valid through 2021 by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). The program continues to meet the requirements for NATEF Master Automotive Service Technology Accreditation - the organization's highest level of certification.
The accreditation includes Baker College's new semester format, which will be adapted fall 2017. The college currently offers courses on a quarter basis.
NATEF is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide at secondary, post-secondary, public and proprietary schools. Its rigorous accreditation process takes about six months and evaluates the program against standards established by the industry. More
SUMMER HOURS FOR NORTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN COLLEGE
North Central Michigan College announces summer hours for the business and administrative offices, library, fitness center, gym and book store, starting Monday, May 8.
North Central administrative and business offices, including student services and Learning Support Services are open Monday through Thursday, 8am - 5pm, Friday 8:30am - 12noon. These hours are effective until Monday, August 21 when regular business hours resume.
The library at NCMC will close for renovations on May 5 and reopen on Tuesday, September 5. A temporary library will be available in June and July to students and the community in the Student and Community Resource Center, Room 535. The hours for the temporary library are Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm, and Friday 8:30am - 12noon. More

NORTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN COLLEGE CELEBRATES COMMENCEMENT WEEK
North Central Michigan College celebrates the successful end of the 2016-2017 academic year with graduation ceremonies.
The Nurse Pinning Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 7pm in the Student and Community Resource Center gymnasium. This year marks the 50th nursing graduating class and the College will be graduating 33 nursing students. The guest speaker will be Spencer Cross, a 2013 NCMC nursing graduate. Spencer currently works at Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital in their Medical/Surgical/ICU as well as in the Emergency Department.
Commencement will be held on Friday, May 5 at 7:30pm in the gymnasium. This year's speaker will be Kelly Suter, lead nurse for Bay Street Orthopaedics and a 2008 NCMC nursing graduate. More
