Cards, Flowers, Chocolates, and those little hearts made of chalk,

Here at Black Cat Comics in rockin' Milpitas we look for any excuse, and take advantage of any opportunity, to share our love of Comics with the world. And there is no better time to talk about what you love than Valentine's Day! In a world that seems to be running low on love, fun, and happiness, here comes our favorite Hallmark Holiday to remind us to take a minute and appreciate those people, places, and things that make our hearts smile. You don't have to have a significant other in your life to enjoy and celebrate V-Day. Anyone, including your special self, can be your Valentine. This weekend you can treat your romantic interest, your best friend, or your sexy self to a trip to your favorite comic shop and partake in the Dark Horse/Image/IDW/Dynamite sale! Give someone the gift of art and entertainment and save 25%!!! They'll love the gift, they'll love you for giving it to them, you'll save a few bucks, and no one will get cavities from eating chocolate! Want another fun thing to do on a date? How about the East Bay Comic-Con? Take a trip to Concord this Sunday and meet some celebrities while you shop for comics! You can share your passion for comics with your Valentine, or you can remind yourself that you don't need someone else to make you feel special. And if your Valentine wants to take you somewhere more traditional, do dinner and a movie at the Great Mall of rockin' Milpitas, and afterward, as you drive down Main Street toward the freeway you can say, "Hey, there's a comic book store. Let's go in there!" Your Valentine will never know that was the plan all along...

Weekly Comics for the week of 2/8/17

Wilson Fisk returns to New York to rebuild his empire, but the Kingpin of Crime doesn't want to be a criminal anymore. Wilson wants to go legit, and to do that, he's going to need a little help improving his image and convincing people of his credibility. Can Fisk really stay on the straight and narrow? Who might gain by making sure he fails? Kingpin #1 goes along with the new Bullseye title and the upcoming Elektra series to expand the Daredevil corner of the Marvel Universe. If you are a fan of DD, or if you just like crime noir titles, give this new series a chance. And if you like the Marvel Netflix shows, don't miss Jessica Jones' comic series which also has a new issue this week! - Causey

Jessica has been in a bad spot throughout this series. (no pun intended) She's alienated herself from friends and family and has gone out on her own. We started getting answers in issue #4 and hopefully we learn more in this issue. When Bendis is good he's really good and on Jessica Jones he's been firing on all cylinders. This Jessica Jones is different from your Netflix Jessica Jones and it's a good thing. Be sure to pick up Jessica Jones #5 this Wednesday. And be sure to stop by this weekend for our big publisher sale. -  Al

After the events of Justice League vs. Suicide Squad Amanda Waller was given the OK to continue using task force x. Now Waller is focusing on hunting down Rustam, one of her previous task force x members.   Suicide Squad #11   will feature art by John Romita and will be the start of an all new arc so now is a great time to jump into the series. I can't wait to see what havoc Rustam will unleash now that he is finally free from prison and is no longer under mind control. - Anthony

We are one more issue away from the finale of Unworthy Thor. In Unworthy Thor #4 we see Odinson battle it out against the Collector and his army for the stolen Asgard and the lost hammer. Beta Ray Bill, a hell-hound and Toothgnasher are battling along side this fallen god. We see flashbacks of Thor's struggle to initially become worthy of the hammer and then are thrust forward to the present where the new Mjolnir is just inches from his reach. Will the Unworthy Odinson become worthy enough to wield the great power of the God of Thunder? What do you think? Enjoy! - Francie

With our recent move we've lost all the awesome reviews we had on Yelp. Whenever a business relocates they remove the old reviews and treat it as a brand new business. Our reviews look pretty meager! We could use your help in spicing them up! Thanks in advance!
