On the road again...
Here at Black Cat Comics in rockin' Milpitas it feels like we just got back from Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle, and now we're off to WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center! Though everyone is sad that the show is no longer at home in San Francisco, WonderCon has become one of our favorite conventions because of the huge selection of comics on the exhibitor floor, the incredible guest list including Jim Lee, Sergio Aragones, Kevin Eastman and Matt Fraction, amazing panels on every subject in comics, and an Artist Alley jam packed with your favorite creators ready to sign and sketch. WonderCon is second only to San Diego Comic-Con, the granddaddy of them all, as far as size and awesomeness. Like every major show we attend, we'll be scoring classic comics to put on the wall at the shop, we'll be talking to publishers about upcoming releases, and we'll be meeting creators and trying to get them to come on down to rockin' Milpitas for a signing! We'll also post videos on our YouTube channel and on our Facebook page so those who can't make it can see a little bit of what the show is like. We want you to feel like you went even if you couldn't make it. But, we have to admit that the real reason WonderCon is one of our favorite extracurricular activities is because it's just a couple blocks from a little place called Disneyland! We don't just troll artists and writers for autographs, we stalk Mickey, Minnie, and Donald for their John Hancocks, too! There's nothing wrong with sneaking a ride on Star Tours or Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye in between panels, perusals, and purchases. Make sure you follow our Facebook page this weekend for WonderCon updates, and check out the Gold Silver Bronze wall behind the counter next Wednesday to see all the cool vintage books we got at the show. Next up on the convention circuit? You guessed it! Silicon Valley Comic-Con in San Jose is just a few weeks away! Here are a few things to enjoy reading in the meantime...

All New X-Men #19 brings the series to a close after the events of Inhumans Vs X-Men, and is the prequel to X-Men Prime #1 (also out this week) and X-Men Blue #1. The original X-Men are together again, at last, but will they remain together going forward? After everything that has happened, what does the future look like for this team of young mutants? The two runs of All New X-Men have been fun, and we're a little sorry to see them go, but we're looking forward to a new era for the X-Men. Pick up the Black Cat Pack of IVX #0-6, the last issue of Extraordinary X-Men, this last issue of All New X-Men, and don't miss X-Men Prime #1! - Causey

In the 25th century the earth is a mess. Pollution and animal extinction have laid waste to the planet. During this mess aliens have decided to invade the earth. It's up to Booster Gold to go back in time to the first time the aliens came to earth. Booster must team up with Fred and Barney to find a way to defeat the invaders. This team -up going to be a Yabba -Doo time! With a back up Jetsons story this book is going to be great Be sure to pick up a copy of Booster Gold/The Flintstones Special #1 on sale Wednesday. - Al

The world of Hanna-Barbera crosses into the DC Universe with this special issue of Suicide Squad. The rock band Banana Splits are thrown into Belle Reve and recruited by Amanda Waller to save the Suicide Squad. With this cross over we can expect one of the craziest team ups we have seen in quite a while from DC.   Suicide Squad Banana Splits Special #1   is out this week so if you are looking for something wacky and fun this week to read look no further. - Anthony

X-Men Prime #1 is the first we see of the X-Men, or what's left of them, picking up the pieces from the IVX war. They're fractured, disorganized and without a leader. All the original team are dispersing to god-knows-where, leaving the school and the future of the X-Men in peril. Enter stage left, Kitty Pride. Back from her adventures with the Guardians she's approached by Storm to see if she has interest and maybe even the stomach to run what's left of the school. Will she step up or try to leave her own private life away from this crazy bunch? Pick up this week's issue to find out! Enjoy! - Francie

With our recent move we've lost all the awesome reviews we had on Yelp. Whenever a business relocates they remove the old reviews and treat it as a brand new business. Our reviews look pretty meager! We could use your help in spicing them up! Thanks in advance!
