Our own little Paradise Island...
Here at Black Cat Comics in rockin' Milpitas we're looking around and seeing a lot of great things happening in the world of Comics these days. Wonder Woman is a national sensation (pun intended) and we couldn't be happier about that. We had a fantastic Wonder Woman Weekend, with a hugely successful Ladies Night on Friday and a massive response to Wonder Woman Day on Saturday! We were blown away by the number of folks clamoring for all things Amazonian! We hope you made it to one or both events, and we hope you had even more fun than we did, though to be honest that would be tough because we had A LOT of fun all weekend! Thanks to all who joined us in the celebration, and a bonus thanks to the nice folks at DC Comics for providing the tiaras, bracelets, comics, and activity books. But there's no reason to think the fun slows down now! No, ma'am! Now's when we Comicbook Cats and Kittens need to get our paws moving, and make sure any and everyone gets out to see the Wonder Woman Movie, and then gets into their local comicbook shop to pick up something fun to read! The Comics Industry needs your help turning all of these movie fans into Comicbook fans! People need to know that the fun doesn't stop after the credits roll! The fun continues every Wednesday at your favorite friendly neighborhood Comicbook store! This week's Steve Trevor #1 or next week's Wonder Woman #24 are great places to start for new fans. And don't forget that there are all kinds of Wonder Woman comics and graphic novels for little kids and everyone else, too! Help us and help your friends and family keep the fun going by introducing them to the fun of Comics! We've got lots of suggestions and are happy to help, so don't hesitate to ask! Want to read more than just Wonder Woman? Here are a few savvy suggestions from our well-informed staffers...

We don't often talk about graphic novels, especially not ones with decades-old material, but Wonder Woman by George Perez Volume 2 isn't just any graphic novel. George Perez was given the task of relaunching the title after Crisis on Infinite Earths, and what he created was one of the best runs on a comic of all time. Whether or not you are a fan of the character, any fan of comics owes it to themselves to pick up the first volume and this new second volume. Written by Len Wein, these tales set the foundation for everything we know about the modern version of Wonder Woman. Some of the very best comics ever made. Buy this book! - Causey
Rick Grimes has been given no breaks these past few issues; between the Whisperers attacking, the Saviors on the attack, and the death of a very close friend things are looking grim. With the Saviors leader Sherry dead from a fight with Rick in his office how will the Alexandrians be able to stop another war from starting. Now that Negan has become an ally will the Saviors want to kill Rick and his group for letting their tormentor out of his cell?   The Walking Dead #168   comes out this week and be sure to check out the new season of Fear the Walking Dead to get more of your zombie fix. - Anthony
Howard chaykin is back. Doing exactly what Howard Chaykin does best, Making us feel uncomfortable. I've been a huge fan since American Flagg and I love that his take on The Shadow disturbed so many people. An America shattered by greed racism, violence and fear, it sounds familiar. America us recovering from a national tragedy. A terrorist attack is expected and four people are murdered in hopes of starting a racial war. That's where Chaykin starts us off. I've been looking forward to this book since it was announced last year as the story of the second civil war. Be sure to pick up a copy of Divided States of Hysteria #1 this Wednesday. - Al
'Here I come to save the day!' Yes, that's right boys and girls, Mighty Mouse returns this week with a whole new series Mighty Mouse #1 written by Sholly Fisch with art by Igor Lima and alternative covers by Alex Ross and Neal Adams. The story takes place in a school yard where bullies run unchecked. Our young protagonist, a quiet artist who just wants to be left alone, is a favorite target to the local bullies. He retreats to his refuge where he's immersed in Mighty Mouse cartoons. He draws the stories he'd like to see where he and Mighty Mouse fight back...then something magical happens. Pick up the first issue today to find out! Enjoy! - Francie

With our recent move we've lost all the awesome reviews we had on Yelp. Whenever a business relocates they remove the old reviews and treat it as a brand new business. Our reviews look pretty meager! We could use your help in spicing them up! Thanks in advance!
