Happy Labor Day,!

Bobcats, we rocked our first week of Fall 2016 at Frostburg. Yesterday, we got a short respite on Labor Day, but now it's right back to the action. Two of our sororities, Alpha Sigma Alpha and Alpha Sigma Tau host recruitment events this week. So ladies, if you are interested in joining Greek Life, check out their events. On Wednesday, the Block Party invites students to join the festivities as it shuts down Main Street, Frostburg for an evening of fun. Pi Lambda Phi invites recruits to their Information Night on Thursday. Enjoy the weekend by catching a free SafeRide shuttle from Annapolis, Edgewood or Brady to Taste of the City where you can explore local businesses and register to win prizes. Late @ Lane kicks off with "Greatest Hits" at 10PM. There's no slowing down as we rocket our way into the second week of school.

Hope you had a great first week,

Last Saturday, the students of the Black Student Alliance held a welcome back cookout and pool party.

Zip Car Is Now on Campus

What is Zipcar? Zipcar is an on-demand car sharing service that gives students, faculty and staff access to wheels when they want them by the hour or by the day. Gas and insurance included.

How does it benefit students?
Zipcar saves students money. On average, members save about $600 per month compared to owning a car, which gives students and parents more money to put toward tuition, books and housing.  Members pay only for the time they use the vehicle, and have no responsibility for additional costs associated with car ownership, such as gas, insurance, parking, registration and maintenance.

How does Zipcar benefit the university and environment?
Zipcar reduces congestion and parking demand on campus. Studies have shown each Zipcar takes up to 15 personally owned cars off the road.  Zipcar reduces emissions. Studies have shown Zipcar members reduce their overall mileage by about 40 percent after joining, helping to reduce CO2 emissions.

Check out the new Zipcars at the Welcome Back Picnic on August 28th at FSU's Lower Quad or Frostburg's Annual Block Party on September 7th on Main Street, Frostburg!

Zipcars are parked in the Performing Arts Center Parking Lot.
