MN Governor Dayton signs bill conforming Minn. driver's licenses with federal standards

Gov. Mark Dayton on Thursday, May 18, 2017, signed the bill to bring Minnesota driver's licenses in line with upgraded federal security standards, finally ensuring that Minnesotans won't have to use passports to get through airport security.

The Minnesota House voted 120-11 on Wednesday to bring the state into compliance with the federal Real ID law; the Senate followed suit later in the evening with a 57-8 vote. It will allow Minnesota to follow the other 49 U.S. states in moving to upgrade their licensing systems.

Delta to test automated baggage service at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport which also includes Facial Recognition technology

Delta  will test its new self-service baggage system at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport this summer.
Passengers traveling through Delta at MSP, Delta's second-largest hub, will be able to use four self-service baggage machines, where they will attach their baggage tags, scan their boarding pass, and put their luggage on a machine that will send their luggage to an area where it will be loaded to an airplane.

Travelers can print their baggage tags at the self-service check-in kiosks. There will be an option to pay for extra baggage fees at the bag drop machine.  Items like car seats, golf clubs, skies and other over-sized bags will have to be processed through a specialty luggage lane.

Passengers will still have to show identification to an agent at three of the four machines. One of the machines, however, will be used to test TSA-approved facial recognition technology that will allow passengers with passports to bypass showing their I.D. The technology will compare a passengers' face to their passport photo.

On May 20 we'll start changing upgrade prioritization, but the process could take a few days to complete in our systems. Upgrade requests will be prioritized by elite status level, then:
  • Type of upgrade
  • 12-month Rolling EQDs
  • Booking code
  • Date and time of request
Type of upgrade:
Before you get to the airport, requests for systemwide and mileage award upgrades are processed independently from 500-mile upgrade requests.

At the airport, upgrades requested will be prioritized in this order:
  1. Systemwide and mileage award upgrades
  2. 500-mile upgrades on purchased tickets
  3. 500-mile upgrades on award tickets

As a ConciergeKey SM  or Executive Platinum member, you'll be able to use your complimentary 500-mile upgrade benefits to upgrade yourself and 1 companion on AAdvantage ®  award tickets for travel on American from Main Cabin to the next class.

Blue Ribbon Business Travel has partnered with automated online expense reporting tools!

Simplify expense reporting for your business travelers.
It's never been easier for business travelers to complete and submit an expense report and quickly
get reimbursed - all online.

These expense tools create expense reports automatically, pulling travel and expenses from airline, car and hotel itineraries, personal and corporate credit card transactions, checking accounts, and scanned receipts.  Streamline the expense reporting process and improve the review and approval flow between departments.

They turn lengthy, tedious paper-based approval processes into one-click, online approvals. Managers can easily review and approve expense reports from anywhere, at any time - no paperwork involved.

In fact, most expenses are pre-approved based on policy rules set in the system, and scanned receipts are included online making review and approvals faster and easier. Expense policy violations are clearly highlighted so managers can request corrections or simply remove questionable line-items and submit the expense report for reimbursement.

The expense systems convert transactions for international travelers into the appropriate currency based on the date of travel.
