Greetings friends, fellow needleworkers, and new subscribers ~ it's time for the June newsletter...
It is a beautiful day here in West Des Moines, Iowa - a welcome change from an entire week of severe thunderstorms and rain (with more on the way tomorrow) - everything is blooming and beautiful. Where did the month of May go (along with the rest of 2013)? - seems like only yesterday I was writing the May news....time is just flying by! This month I kept busy working on a huge deadline for a unique project with a large industry publisher (more on that in the future), a very special "pink" project, and preparations for several new upcoming releases.
If you visited my blog in May, you were the first to see more photos from my recent teaching travels...you were able to read all about my class project for the New England Stitcher's Retreat...you were able to see photos of our new German Shepherd puppy...and as always, I shared photos of my latest creative endeavors! What's New?!....
There aren't any new releases this month...but that just gives you a little extra time to catch-up on your BRD stitching, as new pieces will be coming soon!
All three parts of "Blue Jeans and Daisies" (Mystery Sampler Club - Springtime Edition) have been released and are currently available in needlework shops...it is not too late to join in the fun - this is the perfect project to work on this spring and summer!

In addition:
Two new designs were released earlier this year - these bright and cheerful springtime designs can both be found at your favorite needlework shop or needlework webstore: "Sunflower Serenade" and "Berries, Birds, and Blooms".
Sunflower Serenade (BRD-107)
A Midwest/Kansas-inspired sampler with two coordinating needlework smalls (scissor fob and pin pillow). Package contains charting for the entire sampler and two smalls shown, stitching instructions, stitch diagrams, complete finishing instructions for the two needlework smalls, and an alphabet/numbers for personalization. A framed sampler with a cheerful, springtime feel and a set of four needlework smalls (scissor fob, pinkeep, floss ring tag, and needlebook). On the Blue Ribbon Designs Drawing Board:
As promised, I am working on several new releases (along with the little something special I shared with you in the previous segment). There are quite a few projects in the works for the upcoming months - "Botanical Blessings" (shown below), "Sunlight, Seeds, and Scents", "Feathers, Flowers, and Fruit" (shown below), "Through The Trees", "Mischief At Midnight", and "Harvest Huswif". My plan is to have a couple new releases in the near future, so stay tuned for details! I have so many exciting ideas in my sketchbook that I look forward to expanding on...plus, I have a couple new teaching pieces in progress...so many ideas and definitely not enough stitching time...

New England Stitcher's Retreat
Enfield Shaker Museum - Enfield, NH
Class Project: "Autumn In Enfield"
This Shaker class project has an autumn theme....the class design features on an oval Shaker Shallow Carrier Box (11" H x 7 3/4" W x 2 3/4" D - with a 9" H handle). We will be stitching a padded base for the inside of the carrier box - along with several needlework smalls: a carrier handle wrap, flower scissor fob, needlebook with autumn leaf pages, and an owl pincushion - giving you a very unique stitched Shaker-style display.

The Blue Ribbon Designs Gallery shows off all sorts of fun BRD finishes - including the fabulous one seen right: "Patience and Prosperity" stitched by Robin B. in Madison, VA - isn't it a wonderful framed finish?! Robin changed the colors in this piece and I think the shades of blue look incredible - a beautiful interpretation!
The gallery features photos from needleworkers located all over the world that have stitched their favorite Blue Ribbon Designs. You will see creative and fun finishing ideas...color changes...fabulous framing...and some beautiful stitching!
PRETTY PLEASE, send me your photos when you complete a Blue Ribbon Designs project or post them to the BRD Facebook wall - I always enjoy hearing from fellow needleworkers and I would love to "show off" your work in the website "Gallery"...and who knows, you just may end up featured in the monthly newsletter...
