Utica dad wins car!
This 4th of July will be a day to remember for Utica resident Aaron Bankson.  Bankson was the recipient of a 2006 Honda Accord as a result of applying for the Recycled Rides program through Seward County Bridges.  Recycled Ridesis a community service program of the National Auto Body Council where body shops repair and donate recycled vehicles to families in need. The Honda Accord, which had been totaled because of severe hail damage, was donated by Nationwide to the Recycled Rides™ for Schools program. Students enrolled in the Southeast Community College Collision Repair and Automotive Program in Milford repaired and then donated the vehicle to Seward County Bridges, a local nonprofit organization, that facilitated the giveaway in partnership with the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership. Bridges works to enhance the quality of life for all people in Seward County through empowerment and engagement within the county and community by networking, connecting, and coordinating. After all the applications to the Seward County Bridges/Recycled Ridesprogram were reviewed by the Bridges Committee, Bankson was selected to be the recipient of the car. This is the first year for Southeast Community College in Milford and Seward County Bridges to be involved with Recycled Rides for Schools.

Nebraska Dept of Roads DBE Program
What can the NDOR DBE Program do for your small business?  By participating, a qualifying small business can become certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).  A Certified DBE has the advantage of being listed on NDOR's Certified DBE Directory.  Contractors refer to this directory exclusively when they are seeking DBEs to preform work on transportation-related projects in Nebraska.  Therefore, becoming a certified DBE can increase a small business' visibility to contractors, and may lead to new work opportunity.  Click on the link below to learn more.
