Welcome to the first issue of our Board Business newsletter.  This publication will be emailed out periodically throughout the school year providing news items and business reports from the Board of Education. Thank you for your support.

Community Survey Coming Soon
Over the past couple of years, the district and the community have worked together to study the current state of our buildings and to address facilities needs.  A Community Facilities Task Force presented a facilities recommendation report to the Board in April of 2016. At the September 26, 2016 Board meeting, the district's new architect firm Green Associates presented the Board with facilities concept plans to help address the need for space if we were to provide full-day kindergarten and also to remove the portable classrooms at Hadley Junior High School.  They also presented facility concept plans to address deficiencies at each of the school buildings.  The Board discussed what questions we wanted to ask the community related to facilities on a community survey.

YOUR VOICE is important during this conversation. The District started gathering feedback, however we need to know more from all of the households within our district boundaries. A community survey will be coming to you by mail in the coming weeks. It will also be available electronically.  We thank you in advance for your time filling out the survey.  Your feedback will directly impact our decision to possibly go to referendum in the spring of 2017.

Long-Range Plan Next Steps
Thank you to all of the staff and community members who provided feedback on the draft of the district's Long-Range Plan. Click Here to view the current draft of the plan. The process to develop this plan was spread over 11 months and provided the opportunity for all of our stakeholders to provide feedback. As the Board began the work to create the Strategic Priorities and Indicators of Success, the Board adopted the saying "Children are at the heart of all decisions." The plan will guide our work through 2021.
