Posture and the care of your neck and back

Join Josh Denny & Christina Pate, Physical Therapists for Vidant Duplin Rehabilitation, as they discuss the importance of back and neck health.
What causes neck and back pain? When should I begin to worry about my neck and back pain? What can I do to help this pain? What can I do to keep it from getting worse? Most everyone at some point in their life has had neck and/or lower back pain and has asked themselves these questions. This class will give answers and insights to help with these multifaceted problems. Two physical therapists from Vidant Duplin Rehabilitation in Wallace will give practical advice on how to care for the neck and back. You will learn strategies and exercises on how to improve core strength, posture, and body mechanics.
Meet the Lecturers
Joshua Denny, DPT, CSCS

Josh is a 2011 graduate from East Carolina University with a doctorate of physical therapy. He also holds a bachelors degree in exercise physiology and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
 
He has worked in Wallace as a physical therapist for 6 years, specializing in treating neck, back and extremity pain using the McKenzie method. He is also the Rehabilitation Manager for Vidant Duplin hospital, overseeing physical therapy and speech language pathology services in Wallace and Kenansville.
 
Josh enjoys being a River Landing resident where he gets to enjoy the outdoor activities of running, fishing, and playing with his kids.
Christina Pate, DPT, CSCS, Rock Tape Certified

Christiana holds a doctorate of physical therapy from East Carolina University. She graduated in 2011 and has 6 years of clinical experience and currently works at Vidant Duplin Rehabilitation in Wallace.

Christina is skilled in treating many conditions with physical therapy including joint replacements, rotator cuff tears, knee surgeries, balance deficits, and sport-related injuries. She is also a certified specialist in strength and conditioning, functional movement, and rock tape. Christina is currently working towards her certification as a McKenzie specialist for treatment of neck, back, and joint pain.

Christina has an athletic background consisting of competitive soccer and body building competitions. She stays very active lifting weights, running, and participating in obstacle course races.
