25th Anniversary of the Fall of the BERLIN WALL

Miami Dade College and City of Miami Mayor, Thomas Regalado in collaboration with the Honorable J�rgen Borsch, German Consul General in Miami cordially invite you to the 25th anniversary of the toppling of the Berlin Wall with the Unveiling of an original segment of the Berlin Wall at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus.

The piece of wall, a gift from the Federal Republic of Germany, will be permanently installed at MDC's Wolfson Campus, the only educational institution in the region to receive this honor.

Enjoy FREE German food and beverages; get a T-shirt in the colors of the German flag. Complimentary parking at garage 7 @ 500 NE 2 Avenue, entrances on NE 6 & NE 5 Street.

Savor the Season

Join Brickell World Plaza @ 600 Brickell as they Light Up the Plaza to Welcome the 2014 Holiday Season. The festival is an annual semi-formal event providing guests with an opportunity to "Put on the Ritz" under the stars, and partake in the grand holiday lighting countdown of its signature 40-foot wreath.

Taste of Brickell Annual Holiday

Gourmet Showcase and Kick-off Party

The Miami Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival presents its 5th Annual Holiday kick-off event with a special Holiday Gourmet Showcase. The festivities will be held at La Scala at the Four Ambassadors. The event starts at 1pm and ends at 7pm. Attendees will be able to sip wine from wineries across the globe and also sample gourmet food from some of world's finest suppliers and chefs.

Miami Book Fair International

November 16 - 23 | Street Fair November 21 - 23

The Fair, in its 31st year, will open Sunday, November 16th with the popular Evenings With... series, featuring six nights of readings and discussions with noted authors from the United States and around the world.

On Friday, November 21st, the Street Fair gets under way. The highlight of the Street Fair is the Festival of Authors, with more than 450 authors reading and discussing their work, including the Latin American and Spanish authors who participate in the IberoAmerican Authors Program. Thousands of South Florida schoolchildren will help kick off the Street Fair, making the trip downtown Friday to hear authors and participate in Children's Alley activities, including theater, arts-and-crafts, storytelling and readings by children's book authors. Comics and graphic novels are once again featured, with the school of comics on Friday and a section just for kids and teens, as well as presentations over the weekend by renowned graphic novelists and illustrators.

During Street Fair weekend, more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibit and sell books, with special features like the antiquarians, who showcase signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

Note:

All Streets surrounding the College will be closed while the Book Fair is in progress. Streets will close Sunday, Nov 16th and reopen Monday, Nov 24th.

Yemenwed Presents: Empathy Sessions at the Empatheatre

November 8 & 11

Museum goers are invited to participate in interactive performances called Empathy Sessions. These sessions will feature tea ceremonies, guided meditations, calming transmutational music and interactive movement within the EMPATHEATRE installation. Medicinal teas made from local plants will be served.

These events are Free and open to the public. Space is limited. (First come, first seated).

The Underline: Make It Yours Exhibition

Closing November 16

Enjoy the last weeks of The Underline: Make It Yours exhibition at HistoryMiami's Community Gallery until Sunday, November 16th. The exhibition showcases the key components of the initiative, a 20-foot wide trail, park spaces, and transit station development.

Visitors are encouraged to post comments directly on the walls of the exhibition. This feedback will be collected and used in The Underline's master planning process beginning in 2015.
