Reigning NILE Champions Win the Eastern Wyoming Ranch Rodeo
Lusk, WY—This past Saturday storm clouds rolled over the Niobrara County Fairgrounds just in time for the Eastern Wyoming Ranch Rodeo. The deluge of rain didn't hinder the 2017 NILE Ranch Rodeo Champions, Bootheel 7 Livestock, from winning.

"The arena was a muddy mess," recounted Laurie Wasserburger, event organizer, "everyone did a great job and seemed to be happy to play in the mud."

Bootheel 7 Livestock, consisting of Lance Hladky, Andrew Wasserburger, Eric Wasserburger, and Brett Hageman are seasoned ranch rodeo contestants. They have been working together to win ranch rodeos all across the area for quite some time now. They have competed at WRCA Finals, the NILE, and Wyoming State Fair many times.

The cowboys and cowgirls that made up the ten teams started without a hitch, but soon had to suspend the competition due to heavy hail. Once the worst of it passed, they resumed with the events to finish out the ranch rodeo.

The Hageman boys, Lane Hageman, Brett Hageman, Huey Hageman, and Kade Hageman, came in second place riding under the team name of Hageman for Governor.

Third place went to the Sturman Ranch. The other teams that didn't earn an invitation to the NILE still have a chance to qualify by competing in the Wyoming State Fair Ranch Rodeo, August 17th.
