Good morning,

T he Episcopal Church of the Advent's Parish and Community Life Center (PCLC) will serve as the drop-off site for bottled water between 12:15pm and 7pm today and Wednesday. Deacon Fergie Horvath had said we should expect the Greenville team (led by Deacon Al Hipp) to pick up the water by noon on Thursday, October 8. Please be aware that our Children's Center is located in the PCLC and dismisses at noon.

Donations can be gallon jugs or cases of bottles. T he disaster hits close to me because I grew up in Columbia near the Forest Acres neighborhood - the site of many swift-water rescues and dam breaches and home to St. Michael's and All Angels'. My brother lost his water during the 4pm hour on Sunday. Friends who did have water to boil now have an orange trickle. You can see how dire the need is.

Advent members: We could use some volunteers to serve as greeters but also to assist the Greenville team with loading sometime on Thursday. Please let our Director of Outreach and Missions, Laura Estevez, know if you are able to help by contacting  lestevez@churchofadvent.org or
864-585-9090 ext 1204.

Social media users: Please help us share the information by using the Facebook cover, Twitter, and Instagram images in this Dropbox link. Hashtags are #SCFlood, #edusc (for Upper Diocese of Upper South Carolina), and #cleanwater. Please let me know if you have access issues.

Blessings to all of you for your prayers and donations for these Columbia residents, friends, and family.
