We'll be leaving for Indianapolis in a couple of days to participate in the 2014 Indy Motorsports Memorabilia Experience Saturday, and to spectate at my 45th consecutive Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. The Show will be held in the Pagoda Plaza Pavilion inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 8am until roughly 5pm Saturday. Hours may be a bit jumbled due to all the activities at the track this weekend. Admission to the Show is free but there is an admission charge to the Speedway grounds. It's perhaps the best racing memorabilia show in the US. If you're in town Saturday, the Speedway is the place to be!

Our Downers Grove gallery will be closed Saturday and will reopen Tuesday.

We're pleased to announce that author Art Garner has agreed to stop by our show display Saturday to sign copies of his newly released and highly acclaimed book 'Black Noon'

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the fiery crash that took the lives of Eddie Sachs and Dave McDonald on the second lap of the 1964 Indianapolis 500.  'Black Noon' not only tells the story of that day but expertly reconstructs the fateful events and decisions leading up to that horrifying crash and post race efforts to improve safety at the Speedway. Early reviews hail 'Black Noon' as perhaps the most important motorsport book of 2014.

The signing is tentatively scheduled for 'around' 11am.

Cost of 'Black Noon' is $27.99. As this signing is coming together at the last minute, quantities of signed copies may be limited. Order HERE.

According to news reports this morning, details are being worked out between the Brabham family and the Queensland government for Sir Jack Brabham to be honored with a State Funeral. A fitting tribute to Australia's most accomplished motorsport figure.

As I mentioned in yesterday's Email Update, we were honored to host autograph sessions with Sir Jack at Road America and Watkins Glen during the late 90's while the 3 time World Champion was still able to travel freely. Health problems kept him pretty close to home in recent years.

Most of the items from those sessions are long gone but we still have a small supply of signed 'Sir Jack Brabham: The Legend' posters. We also have a few of Sir Jack's 1959 World Championship winning Cooper Type 51 1/18 scale diecasts in stock. These models were produced by Schuco in 2013.

Sir Jack's 1960 World Championship winning Cooper Type 53 has been announced by Schuco as a future 1/18 scale release. You can reserve one HERE.

We are offering the Cooper Type 51 and the poster at their regular prices.

Also at our regular price are copies of 'First Win' by Nicholas Watts. 'First Win' commemorates Emerson Fittipaldi's first Grand Prix win at Watkins Glen in 1970, which was one of Sir Jack Brabham's final GP starts before retirement. The prints are hand signed by both by Brabham and Fittipaldi and priced at $100.00.

And, as a tribute to a great Champion, we are offering the 1/18 Schuco Jack Brabham Cooper Type 51 along with a hand signed copy of 'Sir Jack Brabham: The Legend' for $299.99,  $20 below our regular price while supplies last. Click HERE to order.

Now to start packing. See you at Indy!!

PS: James Hinchcliff will start Sunday's Indianapolis 500 from the middle of the Front Row. He could be headlining in Vegas. Check out his Derek Daly impression on Indy TV last week, while Tony Kanaan and Robin Miller trying desperately not to fall out of their chairs.
