Welcome to your library calendar of events. We have compiled some wonderful events and look forward to seeing you at one or maybe all of them. 
November 1 - 11
November 1: 10:30am " Opening Reception for
Discovery Space Exhibit" You are all invited.

November 1: 5:45-7:45pm 1st Tuesday for Business Monthly workshop of interest to Small Business owners and Nonprofit Managers in the Computer lab.
 
November 2: 5:30-7:30pm  Teen Movie Night
Enjoy popcorn and a space themed movie in the Computer Lab

November 3: 5:30-7pm  Rocky's Space Camp Blast Off
YS Story Room BML Join us as we "Blast Off" to Rocky's Space Camp. We will enjoy story time, crafts and refreshments as we introduce you to the upcoming Discover Space exhibit.

November 3: 5:30-7:30pm  Community Reads Book and Movie Discussion: "The Martian." Braswell Memorial Library Computer Lab Members of the community will read the book "The Martian" by Andy Weir and watch the movie to stimulate intellectual discussion about potential life on Mars. 

November 7: 1-2pm Cook Book Club in the Wiley Room This month members are invited to read a cookbook filled with recipes from another country.
 
November 9: 5:30-7:30pm Teen Minecraft in the Computer Lab. Work with other teens to design and create in the world of Minecraft.

November 10 : 4:30-5:30pm  Book Talk  Local Artist and illustrator Marion Weathers and author Leigh H. Balance will present a book talk on their new book "The Secret of Gum Swamp." Discover how Henry plans to save and his friends, the Number People and their animal friends through special powers, a bit of math, and a whole lot of courage.  Warner Meeting Room

November 10: 5-7pm Space and Our Weather w/ Mike Moss in the Computer Lab. WRAL Meteorologist Mike Moss discusses how outer space phenomena effects the weather on Earth. Contact Scott Houston 442-1951 ext. 257  
 
November 11: Library is closed for Staff Development
November 12-18
November 12: 2pm-3pm, Ribbons to Bows - Let's get ready for the Holidays; Learn to Tie Bows with Gwen Hyman in the Computer Lab. To sign-up call Kesha Joyner 252-442-1951 ext. 253 or come by the Information Services Desk (2nd floor). Limited to 25 attendees.

November 12th 3pm-4pm, Writers' Fellowship - Writers Fellowship in the 2nd floor Computer Lab. All writers and ages are welcome. For more information contact Kesha Joyner 252-442-1951 ext. 253
 
November 14: 5:30-7pm Minecraft Jr. in the Computer Lab

November 15: 4:30-5:15pm Imperial Centre's Skylab
Come join us as we explore in the world of Astronomy. The portable Skylab planetarium invites students to an interactive, hands on learning experience.

November 16: 5-7pm Imagination Station Rocketry Program Learn the science behind rocketry. Limited to 25 registration required. Contact Scott Houston 442-1951 ext. 257.

November 16: 5-7pm Teen Advisory Board (TAB) in the Warner Room. The TAB will be participating in the Imagination Station Rocketry Program. TAB members who wish to attend need to register!

November 17:  5: 30-7pm Rocky's Stuffed Animal Camping under the Stars. Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend and camp under the stars at the library. We will learn about stars, constellations and telescopes.

November 17: 6:30pm The Friends of Braswell Memorial Public Library proudly presents Daniel de Vise' author of Andy & Don. The making of a Friendship and a Classic American TV Show. Free & open to the public!

November 19: 11am-5pm International Games Day
in the Teen Area and Computer Lab.  J oin us for a day of fun and games!

November 19: 1-2pm Raising a Reader Family Story Time
Enjoy an exciting and enlightening family story time with the ladies of the Braswell Memorial Library's Raising a Reader program. For more information contact Jennifer Stearns at (252)442-1951 ext.233 or

November 19: 1-3pm Discover Space Teacher Workshop
Warner Room BML K thru 5 teachers will be introduced to the Discover Space exhibit and will be provided lesson plans and activities they can use in their classroom after their students visit the library exhibit.

November 24-25 Library closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
