American Baptist missionaries Bruce and Ann Borquist (center) have been serving in partnership with the CBN in Brazil for ten years. They were instrumental in having the leaders of the CBN Ministers Council invite HSRM Chair Clayton Ford and his wife Cheri, also Hannah Ford D'Alessandro accompanied by husband Gino, to be major contributors at the this years annual national CBN Pastors Conference. commented one national leader. Pastors who came from all over Brazil for the national congress of the ORMIBAN (the "Order of National Baptist Ministers" of the National Baptist Convention of Brazil [CBN]) August 20-22 in Florian�polis, Santa Catarina state were inspired by the many speakers and workshop leaders, including Dr. Clay and Cheri Ford of ABC-related Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries. Clay shared about the important role of the Holy Spirit in personal and community transformation during two morning plenaries, and Cheri led two sessions for pastors' wives on the importance of Esther's example in today's world. Daughter Hannah blessed the congress with her music during morning and evening worship times, singing songs of praise and revival.

A packed house! God moved in great power, both at the Saturday night Youth Service and Sunday's main service. Scores of people came forward to surrender their lives to Christ and His service in response to Dr. Ford's challenge: "God Wants to Use YOU!" Many thanks to Pr. Antonio "Beto" Pedroza Vale and wife Claudia, who were such gracious hosts!

Pastor Beto and his wife Claudia are doing a tremendous job leading their fast-growing renewal Baptist church. On the right is Vilma Cruz, church secretary and wonderful hostess (along with her husband Fernando) to the Fords and D'Alessandro's for five days following the Pastors Conference. She and Fernando are very dedicated Christians!

 Hannah had a
BLAST
singing her songs about Jesus and His great love at a public elementary school in Florianopolis. The kids and even many of the the teachers were deeply touched by the Lord! She has quite a gift!
God moved very powerfully in Brazil - it was simply amazing! Seldom have we experienced such an enormous degree of God's abundant favor and grace in ministry. MARAVILHA!!!

These two guys are just amazing; both of them move in the power and love of the Holy Spirit. God is going to move very powerfully to transform many lives, so get registered and start inviting people NOW! Next summer we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary Green Lake Holy Spirit Conference (we started in 1975, and we have met every summer at Green Lake since!)

Personal Prayer Request from Clay Ford:
Dear HSRM Family and Friends,
Please keep me in your prayers for HEALING. I am scheduled for open-heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA next week at 6:45am on Thursday October 2. A 12-hour stint in the ER this past Tuesday (from 1am to 1pm) motivated the doctors (and me!) to move the surgery up from "later on" to next week. Of course, if God heals me miraculously before then, I won't need the surgery - wouldn't that be awesome!!! Thanks so much for your prayers!
