Volunteers "Leap Into Service"
When the calendar has ONE EXTRA day every four years, how do you spend it? H2O volunteers answered, "By helping others!" Speakers from the organization SOAP Cleveland (Save our Adolescents from Prostitution) discussed their role in raising awareness about human trafficking. The group's mission is "to rescue victims being trafficked at hotels, to provide victims a number to call for help, to educate motels and hotels on the signs of trafficking, and to mobilize volunteers on a human trafficking outreach." H2O volunteers worked together efficiently to label 3,000 bars of soap. At the event, we also recognized our latest batch of volunteers to earn t-shirts for 20 hours of service and handed out certificates to our participants in the January Collaborative to End Human Trafficking Awareness Event.
