From Womb to Tomb....And Beyond

Tony Garcia has been raising issues, making audiences laugh and promoting controversy for more than 40 years- since he was 19 years old. Now, he is focused on building a cultural institution that will last for generations to come.

"I grew up in segregated Denver; we  (the Chicano community) only existed in the margins, out of sight. We had no reflection in Denver's image. We lost our homes in the Auraria relocation, because we had no power and we were invisible: I realized that by telling our stories our children would always have a presence."
